does anyone know where to get some of that grey ribbon wire you find in pinters and what not? i’d like to use it as a cheap ribbon wire.

What you’re looking for is an IDE cable. If you know a tech nerd they should have a couple sitting around or, if you have an old computer you’re not useing, you can pull one out of there.
jack you wouldn’t happen to know how many pins would be a good fit would you.
btw that’s the exact cable i was talking about, thanks, this will be the 3rd part of my pack you single handedly helped me build, i also noticed you’re in philly gb’s i am too, small world.
IDE cables are a standard size, 80-pin grey ribbon cable though the wire is very small gauge so they’re techncially not wide enough to be an accurate size pack cable.

you could try gluing 2 together do get an accurate width…
Go to ebay, click buy it now, sort by price. You can get an ide cable there for a couple bucks.
The accurate ribbon cable is only $10 in the shop though. If you try to find an IDE cable in a store you’re gonna pay about that much anyway.
