Concept drawings for the next Aussie Ecto!??

G’Day!

I thought Id post up artwork for a new Aussie Ectomobile-Im going to keep this separate

from the Squad car (only a temp car till Jan or Feb next year) wich will be replaced

with a white wagon.

Ive narrowed it down to about two or three so far with a VE commodore at the top of

the list (Budget allowing of course!) which Ive based the first artwork on.

Ive got a pic of the other car but Im still working on that one-Ill put it up here when Its done.

Nauturally the plates will go over to the new car, as well as the Amber light wich Im

sur will find a home amongst the roof gear and the ghostphone which Ill post some pics of as

As you can see, Im planning on adding a set of fins as well as a set round ford/or caddy tail lights-I just silvered

the wheels but naturally, it will benefit from a nice set of mag wheels.

The other model commodore has a curvier, bubble like back end and will provide a slightly different look-Ill see

how they compare and whats around at buyin time!

So heres the ghost phone-Just some finished pix, its a seventies telstra handset that I found in a retro shop-it was a horrible

tan colour and needed cleaning! I hacked the board and wired in the green lights on the key pad which now lights

up when you push the call button on the side. The nuke logo is a surveillance camera housing with a transperancy in it, both it,

and the green ready light run off three volts from the battery holder screwed on the side!

I finished it gloss enemel (hard wearing is emamel!) and added the black hand grip in EVA foam and it was done!

God I hate this image shifting stuff-frustrating as hell when youre not up to speed, still cant get the hang of it-I shall seek assistance! J

Well thanks to some timely help from a fellow buster-the sketches are

up for parusal!!

For future reference Jas-T, when posting with the full editor there is a preview button that will show you what the post will look like i.e. if your code was correct and an image will show or not. Rather than posting over and over.

Also for an example of the correct code, go to gb4ever’s post and click “quote” The img code around the http link for the image is what you need to use…or you can just use the full editor and click the Img button and place the image url there.

What do you think you’ll make the fins out of?

Which ever car I use-for the frame, Ill probably just cut the paint back and get some 20mm steel pipe and roll the end over at the back-

Ill weld it in place and then use steel sheet sections to build them up-Ill probably need to track down some of those

“bullet” type caddy lights that sit on the back of the fin. Im thinking at this point to get some XT ford tail light units-theyre

chrome and quite similar to the caddy ones.

ill probably use urethane foam and resin to shape some fairings to accept the new taillights-then mold and cast

a new one piece bumper and fit that back onto the car-I dare say Ill need to set some mounting brackets into the bumper

as well so I can get a strong mechanical join.

Spent some time with the sketch in photoshop, got it looking a little sharper now-ill post them up during the week!!
