Crossing the streams

On the IGN boards there was a conversation going on about crossing the streams, and I came upon this comment.

Does anyone know if this is true? I doubt it, but it would be cool if it did.

It can happen…and boy do the streams pack a little punch.

What happens? I’ve only been knocked back. I did it in multiplayer by accident and it ended the round, but all of us were standing close together, I’m pretty sure it was only 2 streams though.

im not sure but i think it makes your tv implode…but thats just a guess.

We, the Playstation Home ghostbusters, were in a survival match on the roof tops. Well suddenly the game crashed right as we were about to win and we got locked in the game, unable to leave, unable to quit, unable to win, just stuck to wonder around the rooftop.

So, we came up with the idea to cross the streams.

We all four crossed them and the explosion was massive enough to kill all of us instantly and ended the game’s round.

important safety tip, thanks TAPS,

i would like to join the PSH Ghostbusters.

I think crossing the streams has the same effect as dividing by zero.

TAPS, was the explosion more impressive visually than when done with say two players?

ditto i wanna join the PSH ghostbusters as well

It was like the streams all met in the middle, and then this sphere of white lightning like energy grew bigger and bigger and then exploded, sending out shockwaves of energy that hit the player like a lightning bolt to the chest…was an instant KO.

to join the Playstation Home GB just message myself or DaveFrehley on PSN…my screenname is raystantz2009 !

Cool, I was hoping something like that happened. It’s actually really hard to cross the streams in campaign mode. The AI is pretty good at avoiding it in my experience.

Yeah, I did this last night as well for a similar problem as you stated. Four streams coming together in a large ball of energy that then explodes, causing an instant KO.

So basically it’s in there to reset the games when they crash.

I doubt that was the intention. Normally if a game crashes the standard route to take is to restart the system. I doubt the 4-stream crossing explosions designed purpose was for un-freezing the game, though from the previous posters it somehow seems to conveniently work that way.

Knowing my luck if this happens it’ll be on a level where everybody is in a different room, or a wall between us all, and can’t do this.

No. They could’ve easily just quit the game & re-loaded it, but it was more convenient for them to cross the streams to kill themselves and end the match so it would just return them to the lobby.

Well, the nice thing about crossing your streams to end a glitched match is you can still get the money you earned during the match. If you just quit, you loose it.

I think I had this happen to me during gameplay, with Venkman. I remember a ball of light appearing and we were both thrown back.

Can anyone make a vid or post a screenshot? Since my PS3 died, I have to bust vicariously through you guys…

You have to assume that the governors Egon installed makes the charge buildup then shuts off in a small explosion before it gets to the protonic reversal phase.

I crossed the streams several times in the PS2 version and nothing happened!

I was kinda half-half hoping something would of

But the packs do over-heat quite quickly in the PS2 version, and you have to wait for it to “cool down” LOL

There’s no “Venting” option?
