You have got to be kidding me! That rocks!
I am put to shame. How did you do the hair?

Really cool styrene work my friend. :crunch:
As for the hair, extrusion or knife?
Thanks so much for commenting everyone!
As far as the hair goes, it definitely sounded a lot easier in my head when I was thinking about how to do it, lol. Basically all i did was dremel off the hair (as seen in an earlier pic) and sculpt the hair that was going to be below the horizontal strap around the goggles. I then attached the strap, and sculpted the hair that was on top, so it would look like the strap was partly underneath the hair. Fix-it sculpt doesn’t have to be baked, and allows for roughly an hour of workable time.
I really hope Mattel considers doing something like an interchangeable head for Ray sometime that has the goggles on. Would be so cool!
wow!!! ur great man..very talented!
So awesome. Seriously. ![]()
Mattel give this man a job!!!Hell, even put him in charge of the ghostbuster line!!!
Truly amazing!!!
This looks unbelievably cool. Nice job.
I love the fine detail on this (The hair overlapping the google straps especially) fantastic craftsmanship. Are you going to do any other of the 6" figures like this?
THAT is the figure that Mattel should’ve given us!!! truly amazing job of the goggled head! maybe you should make a mold so we can all have one? ![]()
ZOMG!!! awsome!
or at least given us an interchangeable head…
Anyhoo, great work!
My thoughts exactly.
So cool that you guys dig the new head! I have zero knowledge of making molds of stuff, otherwise I would definitely be up to making one of the goggles. As it stands now, I’ll be making at least one more from scratch more than likely which would have been made easier if I knew mold making lol.
I’ll def be giving the other three ghostbusters the same treatment ( waist straps, jumpsuit wash, proton pack and belt attachments etc etc) but I think I’ll also be doing the lab coat Ray’s ghost sniffer as well. Once I started checking the references, I noticed a few things that could make it look amazing! Would like to swap out both tubes, replace the wand, repaint the base unit and Photoshop the decals on the sides.
Thanks again everyone for making a newbie feel welcome!
can you take some pics of Ray with the new head in the same lighting/style as your first group of pics?

Sure thing. I was planning on setting up the lights etc for some zoids model kits so it’d be easy to stick Ray in there too!
This stuff is looking great man. Your first pics inspired me to do the same paint moods to my 6 inch ray with AMAZING results. I too will be doing the same treatment to all my figures. I have no intention of ever selling them, so I’ll just mod away. Also I found an interesting alternative to adding foam insulation to the alice pack frame, I’ll have to post pics later. For anyone that’s been contemplating doing this, GO AHEAD. The added detail makes all the difference.
