cyclo and cell lens

i think im gonna use cd jewel cases but they look like you can see threw them to much

advice

Do a search, this was just discussed a couple days ago and a great solution for the lenses was produced; some website where you can order colored plexiglass.

EDIT: I might have sounded like a dick, but I promise you that wasn’t the intent.

That is actually what I used.

If it is too light.. use two of them.

But also keep in mind that the inside of the cyclotron is very dark. You will not be seeing too much if you look into there.

you can scratch the plastic with steel wool as well… kinda contributes to the weathered look if that’s what you’re going for

if you go the cd case route, be careful, it’s a bitch to cut that stuff. plus it likes to crack around the cuts…

you might want to invest in this instead, much better material to work with:

they have both colors for the pack.

gotta give the credit on this find to buntdeer.

I went to my local office supply store and bought plastic folders. Just buy the colored, really flimsy type. I bought a blue and red one and they turned out great on my pack!

I did the same as Lookatthemonkeys. It was cheap as. I think the folders were $2 each, and they look awesome.

freaking awsome

thats what i need thanks

also

what about the vent on the gun

i see some people useing a white piece of plastic

any advice on that

Thought just occurred to me…you can buy red lens replacements for maglite flashlites and they would probably be about the perfect size for the cyclotron. I’ve picked them up at walmart in the past, but I’d be willing to bet a google search would help you find them rather quick. They’re fairly dark and they scratch easily, so it would add to the weathered look as well.

Adding a lens plate to the gun vent is more of a choice in style. The actual props didn’t have them. Up close, you can actually kind of see the inside of the gun through it.
