Anyone who has looked at GB1 closely has probably noticed that some of the cyclotron lights cycle clockwise, and some cycle counter-clockwise. That’s fairly well-known around here.
Also, some of the ribbon cables are mounted with the stripes on the left toward the outside of the pack, and some the opposite. Also well-known.
This got me curious and I took another look at the movie. I noticed that having the striped wires to the right correlates with a clockwise cyclotron. Having the striped wires to the left correlates with a counter-clockwise cyclotron.
Egon’s and Ray’s packs have the stripes to the right with clockwise motion.
Peter’s and Winston’s have the stripes to the left with counter-clockwise motion.
Cue a bunch of people running to their packs to switch their lights/cable around. I didn’t find that documented anywhere, so I thought I’d share it. If it has been, then never mind.
