A very easy possibility… I have a similiar model of the toaster used in the movie that I’ve been thinking about making dance for some time.
Only problem is it only dances if I get it drunk.

I’ve heard people say that they used pinball bumpers or something to make it dance…is that true?
You can see it I think in a few shots. IMDB says regarding the goof…
Continuity: In the “dancing toaster” sequence, the balls on the table move several inches between shoots. Also, one can actually see the moving mechanisms (electro magnetic pins that “pop” out) from underneath the toaster.

I already have a good idea of what to use… maybe not what they used in the movie but I know something that would work…
in the movie I think it was simple air pistons but to make it self contained… I do think I got this figured out…

I guess then you could subsitute the power cord for a compressed air hose?
I have an idea, unfortunately the toaster I was going to use (which looks pretty spot-on) was thrown out by someone (hi it had my name on it, that means it’s mine) during a closet-cleaning and the only other identical one is still in active use.
what about using solnoids. i use to have a shaved door handle kit on a car and it used and electric solnoid that would “pop” out and retract very strong

There it is!!! The only difference from the screen used one is that the plastic is brown instead of black…
