Hey gang, I just thought of something. Does anybody have a dancing toaster? I’m in the works of making one right now, and I want to know if anybody has plans on it or what model/make of toaster the one in the film was. I thought it would be fun to have a toaster dance to ‘Higher’ at the birthday parties the GBJS are going to be attending. Let me know, and thanks.
The only advice I can give you is to look really close at the one in GB2. You can see, pretty easily, how they made theirs work. It looks like each of the four feet on the toaster is hooked to some kind of selenoid. You can see them spring down to make the toaster jump up…
I think you’ve got a cool idea there. Keep us posted.
I notesed that te controls must be hooked to the plug because you never see the end of the cable in the movie
Thanks guys, that’s stuff I kinda figured too. I was looking to see if anyone had some knowledge on what kind of electrical motors to use. I definately gotta make ‘an ordinary household toaster’ just so long as you take my word for it ;D once I start I’ll be showing pics and stuff, definately keep you posted, I think it’d be fun to build as well as play with.
The toaster was more than likely made with pneumatics
That’s what I’m starting to think too. I’m going to try servos at first, but if that doesn’t work, I’ll look around for tiny air cylinders, I don’t know if I can find them THAT small though. Hopefully, I’ll get some progress along and be able to show you guys a video of it dancing ![]()
what about the hydrolic(spelling) model cars with remotes that control the lift. I am not sure if they would provide enougth power to pop one side up are not, but may be worth a try.
Hm.. I’ll have to look into that, thanks for the idea. I’m sure I can buy a chrome toaster just about anywhere. Thanks!
