- I’ve only built 2 proton packs, but I think I found a pretty good material to build the EDA, Crank generator, gearbox, and ion arm out of - paper mache. I know it sounds crazy, but check this out. Pat Catan’s, or whatever applicable craft store, sells a pack of 3 pre-made paper mache boxes ranging is size from small to darn big. I used one of the large packs and one of the small packs ( a total of 6 of these boxes) to make the parts named above. The paper mache is extremely sturdy, easy to cut, easy to glue, practically weightless, and, of course, hollow. It is a great find I think. When I figure out how to post pictures, count on some awesome ones.

That sounds like a good idea. For my junk pack, I took a trip to the kitchen pantry and used anything cardboard from tea boxes to plastic cutlery boxes. Your method sounds even more sturdy and I’d love to see some pics.
I read your other post about you not knowing how to post a pic. You DO NOT need to be a supporting member. You need to go to a site like http://www.photobucket.com and register. Once there, its really easy to post some photos on that site. When your done, it will give you the html for the pic and when you write a post, you click the Img button at the top. It puts a imgimg or something similar. The site of the pic goes in the middle. I.e. Img.http.myimage-photobucket.com.img. I forgot what it looks like so don’t hold me to this exactly, you just gotta post the html in the middle of the two img’s. When you post your photos on photobucket, you’ll see what I mean.
