i really suck at building things from scratch nor do i have the time or money to make a vacuum mold . I ran across the Studio Creations site with molded proton packs for sale . I was wondering if any one has dealt with them in the past for anything not only the pack molds . I really want a pack but i was burned once so i do my best to get info on on line sellers before i send out a paypal . 
Their pack shell is pretty inaccurate and as such I don’t care for it, but as far as I know no one has ever been burned by them.
being completely accurate isnt a big deal to me and seeing as how mine would look like it came from a trash heap if i built it im ok with not being 100%

search around, there are a few builds with these with decent results…
most would suggest weathering and a less glossy paint job, but the biggest gripe ive seen with them is that the details are a little soft because of the molding.
For the price and what your looking for studio creations is the way to go. I have one of there shells.
Yea good stuff, you can still make a very accurate looking pack.
I got a Studio Creation pack and I really like it. You get your money’s worth for it. And the guy who sells them, Jeff, is real great. There was a bit under the gun box that was ripped and I sent him a picture asking if that was normal, he said it happens every so often and asked if I wanted a new top shell to replace it. I declined the offer though, wanting to work with the imperfections, its what makes a pack unique!
But yeah, it is very soft on the features and is probably one of the more less-accurace shells around.
Yeah go with Studiocreations. I got mine from there and I love it… most people here think their packs are 100% and judge studiocreation’s pack, but in reality no one’s pack is 100%… maybe close but not exact…
my pack is in no way 100% accurate, no one’s is and if you use percentages to gauge accuracy . . . .well, you just cant because of the nature of the original props.
i’m going to be using one of theirs.

Nothing actually wrong with it other than what’s called ‘soft features’, meaning it isn’t very detailed. They really are perfect for your first pack.
i have a ton of old fittings , tubes and wiring from when i used to work on heavy machinery that im going to attach to it , along with hitting it with some matted paint . I will post pictures when its eventually done
They look good to me, from what users have submitted in terms of pictures of completed packs using their shell. I still prefer a more solid medium like wood , just my 2 cents. Molds are great though, takes about %70 of the headache out of making a pack
ah yeah. I know about it’s detail being less defined. That’s just because it’s vaccume formed.
I thought you ment some details were off…besides it being 3/4 an inch too small
I dunno… if I was building my first pack, I’d do it the way I did last year.. theres something special about telling people you build something 100% yourself.
If I was buying a shell, I’d save up and by exoray’s.. its top notch, and I think if you compare pics, its a night n day difference.
But then you do get what you pay for.
Gareee, I give a lot of respect to those who have literally built their own from scratch.
That being said; doing it the other way, via vac-form or fiberglass, to me is along the same lines as building model cars/planes. Yeah you may have more of a sense of accomplishment when you scratch build your own pack; but getting a shell is like starting off the the base of any model kit. So you’ll still have that sense of accomplishment when your done with your vac-form or fiberglass shell in the same way someone who builds models for a hobby would feel after putting together a model car. “Yeah, I made/built that” sounds the same from a model builder and some one who used a pack shell and in my opinion command the same amount of respect; but someone who built from scratch has a little more bragging rights and respect when they say “Yeah, I made/built that from scratch”
I dunno, I seem to feel like some people look down upon shell based pack. Yeah, its not the same as building from scratch but you still put a lot of hard work and effort into finishing the shells; vac-form more so than fiberglass in my opinion, and I have made a pack out of each
if i tried to make one from scratch it would look like the pack the junk lady from Labyrinth was wearing lol … im just not a good carpenter
