Doing some custom Busters

this is what i have been doing since mattel had a sale that i could not do without

Awesome, they look good without their packs.

First post here.

Nice job removing the packs. They look pretty cool without them. Would you mind sharing the process you used?

i am not done as you can see from the backs but it tooks some time i used a regular x-acto knife to slowly shave down the green strapes

as to not take to much plastic away and i used a dremel grinding stone numbrr 952 to grind the backs down even with back itself

and to cut the packs off i used a hack saw to cut the plastic so i did not ruin the packs because i am trying to figure a way to make them

have there own straps to put on and off

oh and thanks for letting me your first post on the gbfans website you will find plenty of really nice gbfans to chat and share interst

That’s a great start, really wish Mattel would have went with removeable Proton Packs after seeing how nice just the jumpsuits look~~

I know with Mattel’s GB sale, I picked up around 15 extra figs for customizing as well, lol. With such a low price, was hard not to!

I’ve been wondering what methods people were using to remove the straps, I know this was mentioned earlier in another thread, but:

I havent seen any write ups online about them or anything. Just stumbled upon the images. Not a bad look though.

that looks to be some type of rubber/plastic i was thinking of using this

Do you have any of the Retro Action figures? Their proton packs are removable, and Mattel appeared to cut some corners by basing the Retro Action packs off the movie packs somewhat (especially the throwers). I haven’t sat them next to each other in a while, and the Retro Action packs have some accuracy issues to both the movie and the cartoon, but it might at least give you some ideas.

Nice work Joe, I’ve been wanting a set of four gloved busters for a while my self.
