Since I’m so new to the website, I just thought of some cool Ghostbusters stuff I bet yall would be tickled pink to know about. Peter MacNicol aka Janosz Poha the art director from Ghostbusters 2, is my best friends uncle! Lol He’s his dad’s baby brother, the baby of the family actually. Peter Johnson changed his name to MacNicol upon his arrival in Hollywood at the advice of the same scout that recruited him off Broadway. The name is part of the family’s Irish heritage, somewhere along the way.

Before you ask, no he doesn’t see him often. Last time he saw him he was a kid and Peter was in his 30’s-40’s. Right before filming of Dragonslayer. The family gets a postcard each Christmas, that’s about the extent of it.

Anyways, thought I would share that. Peace y’all

Dragonslayer-- great flick-- came out in 1981. Peter MacNicol was born in '54, so he was 27 when it came out.

He was only about 35 when making GB2.

Nice tidbit about the name change, though. “Peter Johnson” almost sounds redundant, euphemistically speaking.

I dunno, though… if I hadn’t seen a relative in 43+ years, I would probably wonder what I did to upset them.

If you knew anyone in the family it wouldn’t be that surprising hahaha… They’re some odd ducks, and his dad may have seen him more… But as a kid he said that was the last time he saw him. Regardless funny story lol
