I’d like to mount my cheap cardboard/resin stunt pack directly to my MDF motherboard. I would, though, like the ability to put on and easily take off the Cyclotron to add some cheap lighting. Same is true of the power cell. I already have the motherboard and Alice pack, but nothing is assembled yet.
With that being said, any help for a super easy way to do this? Astyanax is using magnets, but I am hoping for an even easier approach. At the end of the day, I am aiming for good enough for Halloween time for the pack. I don’t do much cosplay and am building it just for a first experience/something to wear to the door during trick or treating.
(Eventually, I want to do an SC pack or some other kit, but I want to get my feet wet first).
Why not mount the pack to the motherboard in the standard way with the L brackets? 4 bolts and the pack comes off. Very easy.
I was hoping to hide imperfections via Bonds as my parts aren’t all totally flat. In addition, the power cell isn’t 100% flush. I’ve never done a project like this and am trying to keep it simple.
I have pics of where I am at here: http://www.gbfans.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=42089&p=4879989#p4879989
The L brackets intimidate me, but that is probably the best way to go long term. I have a few steps until I have a fiberglass shell.
My initial approach with the cyclotron, before magnets, was velcro. It’s not as strong, but easier than magnets!

If you’re looking to make the cyclotron easily removable, you could even go as far as using some Legos to put it on. I don’t know that I’d do it myself, but it’s an idea.
