Big fan of the Ghostbusters Kenner toys since like, forever,
I just saw on ebay a neat Slimer prototype and I was hoping to get the experts point of view on it.
I was just wondering if any of you guys out there know for sure if this Prototype is real and worth it’s asking price.
Any help would be much appreciated.

I know it’s an awful lot of money but I’m just mesmerized by the colors and the face.

You could get a really good head start on a proton pack for that price… I’d say don’t bother. Even as a prototype it’s an awful deal.
Even if it is the real deal and I have the money, I will NOT get it at all…

The problem I have with that auction is that he says it was “Unproduced”. It’s just a first shot of the Gooper Ghost toy.
He has two other “prototypes” for sale right now, both of which he tried to sell for high buy-it-now prices earlier. They didn’t sell, so he now has them for auction with $0.99 starting price, no reserve.
It’s definitely not worth $1,000, and it’s really only worth what you are willing to pay.

I’d ask about paperwork proving it’s credibility. I used to follow the procedure of making GI Joe toys and got pretty familiar with seeing what things were common with the prototypes. ( The colors of plastics they used, the textures, etc. ) There’s a reason for the choices of prototype plastic colors and materials, it’s not random.
I’m looking at this wondering if it’s real or a recast of an original that was sold long ago.
My first question is “Can this guy produce written proof that it is what he claims?” A certificate of authenticity or something?
Don’t do it look at the feed back its all fake looking i bet he made that slimer some how and all the listings on the feedback are private
Holy crap, you’re right. The feedback is fake and I just now noticed the seller’s location is listed as Mexico on the auction and in Canada on their feedback page. WTF?

The guy do have a bunch of possitive feedback comments for some recent toy related high priced sales though,
That makes me wonder,
Is it cheap to made a mould to cast these kind of figures using the same plastic used in the kenner vintage line?
And also the poton pack on my Slimer gooper ghost says “made in Mexico” I wonder if that is somehow related with the listing.
