Ok I have finally saved up enough money to get lights for my car.
Here is my issue, Im trying to decide on light colors. These are my options for lights
Amber light bar- Its able to be on while im ridign around and doesnt violate any of Md light laws,
Red- has to be covered since my car is not an evergency vehicle but the color makes it look better than the amber light does. It’s also for some reason cheaper than the others
Blue- Same argument as red minus cost
Blue & Red- good idea but seems to police like
So what would you suggest? I would like to hear from you. Yes it is my car but its always good to have some outside opinions.
Why wouldn’t you use blue like the original ectos? Even with amberlamps are you really planning on driving down a regular street with them running?
good point jackdoud. I dont plan on that. I will have to have them coverev but hey it would be worth it 
Pretty much when they are running I would be on private property makeing it perfectly lawful

Where did you order them?
It may depend on where you live but here in Kenosha, I talked to WI state patrol before i started working on my ectomobile and he said as long as i dont run them on the streets I can have blue. I also dont have to cover them. Talk to your city police department and if possible get a written statement or permit.
I have spoken to them they said it has to be covered. but I can have them I checked before I made the final call but thanks for the info guys
This issue has been covered many, many times here in the forums. it’s not even so much if theyre against the law, provided you do a good job with the car, than it is up to the cops in your area. In Florida, the statute says no vehicle is permitted to have a lightbar without permit. Period.
And while I have been pulled over and lectured about the blue lightbars up top, Ive never gotten fined or impounded, and in fact gotten smiles and winks. I just hope you never run in to an officer having a bad day.

Ok again thanks for the input. I did some further reaserch, the light bar must be removable which is what i bought and can only be display on the car when its on private propertty which is the plan. when i am driving in Md it must be off the roof of the car since MD state troopers only use blue lights seems fair to me I dont plan on doing anything stupid with the lights and I can respect that rule. Once they are here I will post pics and such
