Oooooo.. I like the idea. That’s cool. I went to our local FIM store and bought some pool vaccume hoses. They were like 2 bucks each and work really well I think, I like yours too, absolutely cool color scheme.
Just thought I’d let you guys know of our latest upgrade to the Ectostang. This is actually a creature comfort of sorts I guess you’d call.. Shoobie got one for his car, and a couple hours later I decided I had to have on too, especially because I got an extra 50 bucks off it for being a radioshack employee
A Serius Satellite radio!
It’ll be great for our long-ass road trips. My boss was right, once you use one of these, you won’t go back to normal radio.
Absolutely great work! I must admit that at first I didn’t think this would be a good idea, but you’ve pulled it off very nicely! Keep up the good work, my friend.
Cheers,
Patrick
Well I waited all October for my custom plates to come for the Ecto. The weekend before Halloween came and went, still no plates. Then the big night itself (And of course 2 days later I find out there was a big prize in a costume contest I didn’t know about but was 2 blocks away from at the time) And the big night went.. However.. November 1st.. MY FRIGGIN PLATES CAME!! Gah I was so pissed. Plus the fact that me and Shoob were so down about coming back home to this crappy town we even thought about disbanding GBJS -_-

I decided to post my reply here as to not hijack an unrelated thread.
I love your ECTO-Stang. I wish I had the ■■■■■, devotion, and talent to produce that roof rack of that quality for the GBNJ Interceptor. I was trying for a “Starsky & Hutch” '70’s dective show kinda feel. so I didn’t want a roof rack, but the Interceptor light bar and mini roof rack were ripped right out of my dreams for PT Crusier I use on occasion. I fact if you had the time to put together a parts list or tutorial, i’m sure I’d not be the only one interested, in fact I could reserve some server space at Ghostbusters International for it. Just a thought.
BTW my Dream Ecto-Stang would be a white 2005 GT w/ red racing stripes and Shelby inspired lower door trim. A blue and clear Interceptor bar. 2 short CB antennaes, push bars, GB door logos, and the franchise name written on the rear quarter panels.
Well, that’s not a totally bad idea. The lightbar I used is actually a Vector made, and when I put just the lightbar on the car before the roof rack was built, the car looked like one hell of a bad-ass interceptor, and really drew the interest and following of cops, so, on a mustang I beleive some sort of roof rack is a must. Glad you like it though, so far as in building my roof rack, it’s got a long ways to go, but I basically welded everything together and changed the design several times while making it to make it work best on the car. One problem was overcoming the arched roof, but that took both adjusting the feet of the Vector and the base of the roof rack, but I’m pretty surprised how it turned out, and a lot of people like it.
Oh and thanks for not hi-jacking the other thread lol
ecto69 + radio shack employee = employee discount… when is the next time you work, im coming to visit ![]()
It’s Ecto96
I work tomorrow at 5:45pm and pretty much the rest of the week. Got a cool idea for proton pack light kits, going to put it into action though to be sure it works before I share it with anyone, but I will give you a hint that it involves rechargable battery packs, and an easy way for charging your pack that would involve just plugging it in to the wall.
ecto96- exactly how did you hook up the siren? i saw the video and it looks and sounds awesome. i was j/w how you got the siren to actually work.
I can’t help but laugh. I’ve been asked both this and where I got the siren from a lot of times. I think I’m gonna hafta do a tutorial or something. Anyways, starting with 2, 50 watt speaker stadium horns from my local RadioShack 20 bucks each, and 100 ft of wire.
First I mounted the horns up in the roof rack, and ran their respective wires down into the cab. Those ends came in to a project box that sits next to the E brake lever. They plug into the right side of two 3 way switches. From there, I connected the wires from the radio itself to the center posts (A.k.a. the leads) and the left side wires were extended and hook up to the front speakers in the car’s doors.
“Everybody gettin this so far?”
Now from there, everything’s just about done, because hooking right up into the wiring harness allows you to enjoy full sound in your Ecto’s cab, as well as up in the top. When listening to music (I.E. ghostbusters or the sirius satellite radio, as the ecto is now a giant mobile boom box, though music isn’t so good through those horns..) I let the sound go through fronts and backs evenly, and usually have the volume at 50/100. Now for the siren, I turn the rear speakers down to about 9/10 towards the front, and turn the volume up to 70/100 sometimes 72/100 as it gives a VERY loud and yet very clear Ecto siren that as you know, sounds VERY good. That’s pretty much how I did it. When I get a couple hours to myself I’m also going to run wires from the battery in the trunk to the radio, so that I can have it’s power on without the car being on, so that the siren can be ready to go whenever I need it, rather than the stereo loading up an mp3 which takes a while.
Check out what I got. New pics of the Ecto after a good fresh wash  I know! She’s clean!!! And even has shiney tires ![]()

Looks awesome! I really like the lights on the trunk! :o
Thanks, but they need repairing and/or replacing, every time I open them up and dry them out, soon as they get wet they get full of water again, and it’s starting to take it’s toll on them. At only 20 bucks each, probably cheaper on ebay, can’t go wrong either way. Glad you guys like em though. I am going to be adding another lightbar on the back of the roof rack (I think) Either a strobe or an LED just to keep it a bit more out of the norm. This bears more welding!
Just did an ‘upgrade’ on our advertisement on the ectostang. The web address is on both quarter panels.

Here’s an update. These are pictures of the Ecto with new head/tail lights in, as well as her new roof-rack mounted spotlights, which throw out an amazing 200 watts of light. So.. with all three spotlights on.. you could sun tan in front of the Ecto hahaha.
Also, here’s a link to a video that was a bit of a goof but I put it on youtube anyways. Maybe I’ll do a walkaround during the daylight after she’s washed. We’re planning on starting up a little recurring thing where we explain benefits to upgrading and upkeep of your equipment, starting with your Ectomobile, by putting some comedy in and explaining stuff, just for the fun of it.
