Ok, I see how it is… hops in the cool-ass ectostang and begins running over said attacking peoples Muwahahahaha shoots proton streams out the window while doing so
I think I win. Anyways, I think the question was attaching the bottom of the hoses to the fenders. Well, Fuk punching holes in her body, I’m using 95lb rated heavy duty magnets, found at your local Ass hardware. I mean Ace hardware. Obsoive…
Thanks, but I’m not too worried about scratching her. She has had scratches since before I bought her, and I’ve put my fair share on her, and auto paint does work wonders  I’ve even got some yellow paint in a few spots on her and the lightbar (Thank god not on my covers) Incidentally, the magnets I’m using were in the original design plans to be used on the roof rack, but I was afraid of slippage and scratching then I found the suction cups I’m using now. The hoses tend to not move at all, and the fender is still clean without scratches after even going down the highway, they only vibrate when it rains and they get wet, which is funny to listen to going down the road  They stick on quite good though, it takes a good grip to pull them off the fender, which makes it nice because if I want to take the rack off, I pull them off and stick them right on the rack after loosening it from the cups, very handy indeed.
Ok gang, update: Ecto Siren!; Installed and operational!! Here’s the pics, and below is a video that I did NOT edit, other than put two clips together to make it a single file, no sounds have been added, other than the Ghostbusters theme, or removed
Just thought I’d show you guys how she looks right now. Thanks for all your compliments. I have a long way to go, I just gotta find time and money to put in a floor, and I’m also thinking of getting a second lightbar for the back of the roofrack.
I have a suggestion though. The blue tubing at the end where the magnets hit the body, maybe put a box on the end to hide the magnets and the end of the tubes. Just an idea.
Not a bad idea. I was going to go for smaller magnets originally, trouble is they only had the huge ones in a pair… I might get a project box from here, an aluminum one, to bolt on.
I don’t think it needs a second light bar at all. Maybe some other equipment on the roof rack but with the design of the light bar you have alreay, it looks perfect for the car. Great work ecto96
Thanks, she keeps getting all sorts of compliments. Just tonight someone yelled “Your car rocks!” in the turn lane next to me lol. I suppose she doesn’t need a rear bar, I dunno I’ll think about it, I already have one that was to be the original  Anyways, I realized something the other day, the light pods on the outsides of the lightbar blink, just like the original ecto’s lights ahead of her front and rear lightbars. Which is kinda cool, makes her pretty similar even though it looks different.
I was so happy when I got mine, because I could finally… ya know… enclose all my projects.
As far as the tubing goes, here is what I am doing:
I bought blue tubing from home depot last night, I believe it is 1 1/2 inches outside diameter. I’ll get you a picture of it later. It is so sick, a black tube with blue ridges… awesome awesome.
Anyway, take the ends of the tubes and buy 1 1/2in end caps for pvc pipe, they are essentially just little lids that go on the end of the pipe. drill a hole in the center of the cap, put a bolt through it, then glue the cap onto the hose… gorilla glue or super glue will work fine, just use a ton. Then put the bolt through the hole in your magnet and fasten with a nut.
Now you will have a hose that actually looks like it is going INTO the side of your car.
