i’ve got all the ghosts scanned 100% except for ectoplasmic residue from the sedwick hotel. How do i get a full scan? isn’t it the residue that slimer leaves behind when they re-enact the scene where ray tries to take slimer alone?
That isn’t the only one, there’s also slime on both sides of the wall above the doors leading into the Alahambra Ballroom.

ok, so i tried this but it didn’t help. i have everything in all the levels except for the first 3 levels. I cant seem to get the full scans on 3 items… ectoplasmic residue, black slime portal, and on the third level i have all of the scanned fully and in my spirit guide. I just need these three things to finish up that trophy. please anyone have any suggestions?
Black Slime portals are found at the threatre where Hindenburg is being produced… don’t think I’m going to be any more help in regards to the Ectoplasmic residue.
Yea, its not like you have to play through the whole level again, just pop in get the scan, pop out.
ive done this several times with all 3 levels, i really am lost here. i even scanned the residue on both sides of the door to the ballroom. and i spent like 20 min scanning the portals but nothing came about.
anyone else having this problem?
there is a room hidden on your return to the sedgewick to the right of the entrace lobby, behind a closed door. the entire room is covered in slime. did ya find this one yet? 
I know it helped but I thought all it mattered was getting the ghosts scaned. I didn’t think it mattered with the ectoplasmic residue, hmm… cause there’s residue and black slime portals in other levels too.
Interesting. I got the black slime portals at Hindenburg with no problem. Just don’t try helping the guys out and get a scan of the portals.
well this is what i did. I started a new campain and was able to get the black slime portal scanned but still could not find ecto-plasmic residue in the first level. the book says that ectoplasmic residue can only be seen with the paragoggles. I used the paragoggles the entire time i was able to use thim in that leve and did not see any ectoplasmic residue accept for when sargassi pops out of the drink machine, but it wouldnt let me scan that. I dont know what to do about this. Not able to get this trophy.
Isn’t the first thing you scan with the pke is ectoplasmic residue?, Hmm that’s really weird that it won’t count it for you.
the first thing you scan is the ectoplasim not the ectoplasmic residue. you can only see the residue with the paragoggles. you wouldn’t be able to see it w/o them on and the pke meter
I also couldnt find any ectoplastic residue (the hidden kind) in the first level - I think its a misprint in the guide… the only time Ive seen the hidden ecto residue is in the first part of the library level… as for the portals the first time you should be able to scan them is after the first fat lady diva ghost flies out of the theatre… about 5 portals open up in front of the theatre, as long as its pink and glowing you should be able to scan it
