Entire summary of the GB3 Script that Eisenberg wrote: Not bad!

Out of all the “possible” GB3 storylines I don’t mind this one.

Seems that there are some cues from the GB Video Game, with Slimer being contained behind glass and also the intro with the security guards.

Oscar being a Ghostbuster, I think we all imagined that in our heads at some point.

Venkman as mayor, hm I could see that. But I remember there was another GB3 script with Winston as mayor which would be really cool.

Final boss being a Cthulu. I could see that. Not as creative as the androgynous Gozer or Stay Puft.

My favorite was the ending. Really sacrificing themselves for the good of the city. Crossing the streams actually doing what Egon said it would do.

I love the idea of Ray, Venkman, and Egon’s ghosts playing cards late night at Ghostbusters Inc.

Pretty sure this is about a different potential GB3. I seem to remember reading this before and it later being outed as a fake script a fan wrote and passed it off as official.

Things I like about this synopsis:

Venkman becoming mayor by running on an anti-Ghostbusters ticket seems like something he would do.

Ghostbusters having been taken over by some obnoxious corporation. Although it would make for a neater narrative if they are revealed to have been in some way responsible for the appearance of the “big bad”. The issue with this is the movie was ‘re-introducing’ Ghostbusters as an IP, so to portray Ghostbusters in an obnoxious and unlikable manner from the start, without the context of the warmth of the first two movies, would be risky.

Things I thought were meh or I hated about this script: Everything else.

I hope one day we get to read the various full scripts for Aykroyd & Ramis’ GB3, Eisenberg’s GB3 with and without Venkman etc.

Can’t say I’m crazy about Ray, Egon and Peter dying off at the ending, nor that the big bad is ultimately another God.

Venkman ran for mayor in the Return novel. It sounds like this is a culmination of all walks of GB lure and ideas. True or not, its a good premise.

I recall that as well that it’s fake as shit.

Yeah, it was confirmed to be a fake fan script by either Eisenberg or Stupnitsky… I can’t remember which.

Gene Stupnisky confirmed this script is fake in November of 2014. Later was revealed it was an aspiring screenwriter looking to make a splash.

Honestly, I kinda like it. Given that they’re all getting older (and Murray wanted to be a ghost in 3 at one point) I think it’d be a nice send-off to the old characters, while showing that crossing the streams IS a bad idea. Reminds me a bit of the end of Return of the Jedi.

Fake, but entertaining. I liked the general idea.

I don’t like it, personally. It sounds like the kind of fan fiction you get from someone rewriting the Last Jedi. Fan service-y and not really about anything.

Dude…
