Factory Ent. Slimer Shakem resculpt WIP Pic...

By the way - if anyone has questions about the process involved in making something like this, or why they cost what they do, or anything really - Just let me know!

I’m just curious, is your sculptor someone “in-house” that you’ve worked with before or is this the first time that you’re working with them?

The Slimer looks MUCH better in this shot

This is not an in-house sculpt. Considering I started with Factory Ent after the first scultps had been completed, I am not sure what our history is with this person.

I have sent PAGES of revision notes (including that photo you quoted) though and ideally should get back something more film correct soon!

Thanks for the quick reply! I sent you a pm with some info that I hope you find useful.

Starting the Venkman face sculpt soon so stay tuned for updates on that!

Can’t wait to see that!

Already got back a new slimer sculpt photo and its looking great! I need one more photo of the face and Ill post.. Thank you all for the help with this!!!

Awesome !!!

I’m just happy to see that this company is actively requesting input about the very products that we’ll no doubt be purchasing with our hard earned money, and not just flooding the stores with inferior representations of our beloved characters…

I mean “Lavatiki” did this with us early on in the Mattel line, but that was before they transfered him to oversee other toy lines, and I sight that as one of the reasons the line suffered towards the end…

I still think he needs to be rotated 20-30 degrees foreward, so he is facing forewards, and not up. There are quite a few versions of just the film Slimer, but my favorites are these

The Neca slimer action figure

The lucasfilms display slimer

The GB2 Robin Shelby slimer costume

(I like the Shelby slimer face, but not the upper head shape for some reason.)

Maybe your artist doesn’t have these specific images to use as references?

One feature many seem to miss are the slightly elongated fingers with the bulbous tips.

I look foreward to the improved pics!

Something else to consider (I mentioned doing the base in clear lime green before) is that the base originally shown looked more like water than a raised slime ooze.

Slime wouldn’t be as symmetrically even like your base sculpt, but would have thickness variances, and maybe rounded bubble like bits in it as well.

These kinda of show this off some:

The above semi transparent looks much more like ectoplasmic slime than the lower two more solid “nickolodeon” looking ones

Im really happy with the latest picture, in fact Im ready to approve it!!!

What do you think?

Oh, yeah, MUCH better!

My only concern though is that he’ll end up being mounted so he is staring up at the sky. How large will the final product be? (From the top of slimer’s head to the bottom?)

He will be about 6" - 7" all said, with base..

That mounting thing is an engineering issue that Im going to readdress when we get back to that point, dont worry  (It bothers me also…)

I think you’ve got a winner :).

Thanks for involving the community! This sort of care about the fanbase makes me 100% committed to buying your products. This little guy will look good on my shelf ;).

Thanks Travis! Im really happy with the new look! You all rock - seriously.. it was a HUGE help on this one!!

Yuck, I really hate the way Slimer turned out TylerH, after all this suspense what a let down…April fools

Ha - Thanks Al!

What if THIS sculpt is an April fools joke, and we are just going ahead with the original prototype…

Good point, good point…lol…the April fools joke would than be on us :stuck_out_tongue:

The real shakem is just a green tennis ball with pipe-cleaner arms..

It’s as if a thousand voices cried out at once…
