I’m disappointed there’s no Kevin toy with scooter accessory.

I just bought the Lego Firehouse and Ecto-1. Interested to see the Lego sets that are supposed to be coming for the reboot.

Figures look decent in the photo. Wondering how well it’ll transfer into the actual products.

They look low quality/fisher price to me :frowning:

The equipment is a silver tone in the promotional materials and more detailed, also the overalls lack depth :frowning:

With Mattel, I’m just ecstatic that we’re getting these figures. No retail action figure toy company has a track record with girl figures, but Mattel is the worst. They look good for Mattel. I’ll pick them up, for sure.

And yes, I want Kevin on scooter!

I cannot stand Jones` angry duckface. Seems like he have a wide expressions range: angry duckface, duckface with eyes wide open, angry woman who shout a lot, angry woman who shout a lot with eyes wide open.

lmao

I’m kinda confused, I check into this part of the forum from time to time and I always thought the hose connection started from the bottom of the pack not from the top? Not nitpicking of course, the figures look 'aight. Just something off about the connection coming from the top is all…

Who is Receptionist Bill?

Receptionist Bill is Joseph gordon levitt of course! He suits the part perfectly!

These look like they could be decent mass-market figures, if they’re priced accordingly. If the packs were removable (for a potential Ecto) it would definitely boost the playability.

Future peg-warmers and dust collectors at my local TRU, Target and Walmart. GB Stuff just sits there. The GB2 action figure four pack sat at TRU for well over a year. Will get lost behind the SW, Marvel, DC, TMNT and Power Rangers action figures.

Boys won’t be asking to buy and play with these action figures either. So these are probably aimed at the collectors market. Mattel should just sell them on Matty Collector.

Don’t forget that if Feig has his way, this figure would also come with a removable shirt. LMAO.

at least each character gets their own mold…the classic line couldn’t get that consideration. is it just me or is Jones’ figure too short? shouldn’t she be an inch taller than the rest if they’re taking the time to do accurate body molds? as for the lack of kevin, i’m guessing we are supposed to just use a thor figure substitute. in any event, these are a pass for me. with the dst classics coming hard at a great price point i see no reason to give mattel any more money.

Feig is rolling out the toys, but mum on the trailer…

http://www.scified.com/ghostbusters/ghostbusters-trailer-missing-action-figures-revealed-and-the-stay-puft-marshmallow-mans-return

This article says that lack of trailer means lack of faith in the movie by Sony part.

Many people are saying that the later the trailer will show up, the fewer will be the chances of success. Why?

These are prototypes, bear in mind. Remember how disappointing Slime Blower Winston was originally going to be?

I’m not expecting major improvements on what we’ve already seen, as these are within the established quality of Mattel’s past Ghostbusters products, but there may be some small room for improvements.

I don’t credit him very highly, but I know he wouldn’t do that.

The article actually says nothing of the sort.

It speculates that the lack of a trailer may in part be down to the response some fans have had to the project, but even that isn’t necessary anything other than an assumption by the article writer. That’d make the second speculated reason in the last month of so that we’ve heard for why the trailer hasn’t appeared, the other being incomplete CGI effects.

I dig ā€˜em. Face sculpts are a little rough, but noticing a lot of figures’ sculpts as of late have left much to be desired. Sign me up for all four.

You really do have selective hearing, don’t you?

Be careful GH, I said that this will be a hard sell to boys on the Nerdist’s post about it and got ripped to shreds and more or less called a bad parent. Plus wow, does Mattel even try? These figures look terrible. Hopefully they don’t 25 bucks a piece for these. If I were the actresses’ I 'd be appalled.

I’d go with ā€œphoned inā€ rather than terrible. They’re recognisable for who they are, but are not the best that could’ve been produced, which in ways leads to a similarity with Mattel’s Ghostbusters figures and Kenner’s.

That’s actually a very good term for it, Ben. But if they price these at 20+ a figure they don’t live up to that price point. As much as I hate to say it, i’d almost be interested in see what DST could do. Oh and you you totally hit it on the head in the other thread about the packs looking like they’re upside down.
