As promised in the news post earlier today, Time Life sent us the finalized design for the packaging of the Real Ghostbusters DVD. Obviously the fans choice of the Fire House box design was the best! View a larger version of the above photo by clicking on it, or by clicking here. The details on the packaging and release are as follows:
The DVDs come in 5 separate STEELBOOK sub-sets, each with 5 DVDs (volume 5 has 4 DVDs). Plus, DVD #25 is a bonus DVD with nearly 3 hours of material, including the never-before-seen promotional pilot (with commentary and storyboards). A 52-page booklet with exclusive art, RGB trivia and more. And, it all comes in the Firehouse box, with lenticular panels.
Are you finally ready to order the Real Ghostbusters DVD Collection?
The only thing I don’t like is the disc-over-disc storage. I hate having to pull one disc out just to get at another. I know that I’m not alone in feeling this way. To be fair, I have seen worse - MUCH worse - ways of storing discs.
Clortho, I just read about the Simpsons 11th season packging over at TVShowsonDVD.com and it does look pretty horrible. As much as I like the show, I’m glad that I’m not collecting the sets (I just want all of the Halloween episodes - more than that single disc they out out a few years ago).
I ordered mine a couple months ago and as te ship date looms closer :sigh: I find myself wondering what the “Music and Effects tracks” are…hopefully some of the Haim Saban/Shuki Levy music perhaps?..
that’s cool that they updated Janine’s appearance on volume 5 based on what she looked like that season ( I still prefer the “classic” Janine though, with the big hair, yellow shirt & short orange skirt ) - and what’s up with Ray’s face on volume 1 cover? the dark shadows over his big crazy eyes make him look like he just escaped the looney bin…
I’m gonna geek so hard when I FINALLY get this collection! I’ve already planned my own little Saturday Morning revival party with boxes of sugary sweet cereal to accompany my trip down memory lane. This collection in addition to the Silverhawks on DVD, it’s gonna be sheer bliss for at least a week! I’m gonna O.D. on Cocoa Puffs.
