I’ve been hanging onto these items since I was a kid. Literally. Well, they’ve been sitting at my parent’s house gathering dust, at least… Anyway, I decided that I have no place I can think of where I would ever be able to properly display them, so I thought maybe one of you might want a stab at adding them to your own collection. Problem is… I have no idea what they’re worth. Anyone have any ideas about the actual value and rarity of any of these items?

First off, we have an oversized Ghostbusters VHS box which hung from the ceiling of the same video store that had the RGB standee. This has hung from the ceiling of my bedroom at my parent’s house for about the last 24 years… As you can see, the colors on the bottom of the box have faded from the vivid red they once were, due to sun damage, but it’s still a really striking display piece. The top of the box, where it had a bit of fishing wire to attach it to the ceiling, is a little pulled out of shape, but other than that there is very minimal damage to this item. The box measures 91/4" wide x 14 3/4" tall, and is a little over 2" deep.

Here’s one side:

And, then the other:

And, finally, we have come to the gem of my childhood collection! I got this poster from another local video store and it hung on the wall above my bed for all of my childhood and teenage years. I very clearly remember looking at it every night and being in awe of just how cool it was… and of how cool they were. Unfortunately, I decided to apply my own personal touches to the poster by adding some stickers. Oh, how I wish I could go back in time and slap those stickers right out of my stupid hands!!! I also would tell my 10 year old self to roll the poster up and put it away before it got any sun damage! Unfortunately, I do not own a time machine, so alas, this otherwise breathtaking poster has some stupid stickers on it and the colors have been faded by the sun. It also has a couple of minor creases in it from before it was mine.

I have NEVER seen another one of these posters, so I don’t know exactly how rare they are. It is printed on a pretty thick stock of paper and measures 40" wide x 60" tall. I believe this poster was never meant to be outside of a movie theater. It has studio numbering on the top and bottom white border, and also at the bottom there is a warning saying that it’s basically illegal not to return this poster immediately after use!

Here it is next to a regular 27" x 41" theatrical poster. As you can see, this thing is HUGE! I mean, 'cmon! It’s 5 feet tall!!!

And… here’s that warning I was talking about:

So, what do you guys think?

I have no idea what its worth but what would be an acceptable number for the vhs box. . I think its worth the pain it will be to ship cross country. . Lol

I really don’t know what any of these are worth! Make an offer, I guess…

Wow. Real shame about the stickers on that poster. I did a lot of stuff like that as a kid, too, so I don’t blame you. But man. Too bad.

yeah the stickers make the poster pretty much worthless LOL so I would just hang on to it, I dont think anyone would want to buy it.

What do you mean? The stickers add character! Why, as I type this, I’m putting Mr. Men stickers on a Van Gogh.

That said, I dig the Real Ghostbusters standee.

Just as a random side note, the Real Ghostbusters artwork on the standee was also on a board game I had from back in the day. It had plastic pieces you put together with trap doors and such. I also had little cardboard cutouts of the Ghostbusters that went on stands that you moved around the board. It was pretty sweet.

Trust me… I KNOW. I can’t even look at it without beating myself up… and then smiling because of just how big it is. I’m trying to think of it as being more “authentic 80’s” with the stickers… :sigh:

Okay, guys. I’ve got an offer for $40 for the RGB standee. Anyone want it more than that? I’ll consider it sold if no one replys by Monday. Thanks!

What are you wanting for the over sized GB vhs box? Any idea?

Sent from my SCH-I500 using Ghostbusters Fans on Android

I’m actually interested in the poster partially BECAUSE of the stickers, my first skateboard was a Powell Peralta Ripper with Slime ■■■■■ wheels and my second was the original Mike McGill with the skull and snake. Bones Brigade M-Fer!!!

Nice! Yeah, just looking at it takes me back

Offer sent.

There has been an offer of $30 for the oversized VHS box, so if anyone wants to top that, let me know. I will consider it sold as of midnight on Wednesday if no one has a higher offer.

Also, the RGB will go for $40 as of midnight on Monday, if no one has a higher offer. Thanks guys:)

RGB standee is sold! Thanks!

Is the VHS box still available?
