Fuel Price Overload?????

Ok, is it just here in the UK that fuel prices have gone sky high, or has everywhere else too?

at the moment, petrol (gas) is at approx 114.9p per litre (approx 230 c or $2.30 per litre!!)

and diesel is even higher!

whats going on!!!

SERIOUSLY? It’s only $1.80 here in Colorado!

Seriously! look at todays national average at the top of this page Driving advice and guides to keep you moving | The AA

It seriously is geting out of hand! and it keeps rising everyday!

since like october, it has risen about 30p (60c), and theres no plan for it to stop! i hate my country! there scam artists!

lol

gas is going up here in the US, and natural gas (methane) and electricity is going up this fall. The ethanol thing is making corn prices and food soar, too. It’s going to get worse before it gets better. : (

Only one man to blame…

Gordon Brown… The guys an idiot

Lawrence

preach it brother

lol

Actually that would be only two countries to blame; India and China. Industralization consumes a lot of fuel, thus prices increase as their demand increases.

But Gordon Brown does have a lot to do with the UK prices being so high, much like various Politicans here in the US have our prices so high.

The UK taxes the hell out of fuel, remove your governments taxes (fuel tax and VAT) and you are almost inline with US prices…

I did the math last week for a thread on Proptopia, the UK tax on fuel is about 57 pence a liter currently… Remove or lower the fuel tax over there and you would probably be a little happier as it will make a difference, unlike the US proposals to remove our fuel tax that pretty much amounts to nothing…

yeah your right Exoray, half of what we are paying, in tax’s!

i want the magarita island fuel price! i wen there last september, and there fuel price was 3pence per litre! (around 6c) they said they could fill up their tank for around £1

lol crazy

Lets bomb them!

It worked on Iraq didn’t it?

well if they have all the fuel, you wont need a bomb, i think a match should do it.

KABOOM!!!

HAHA

Well both countries are kinda pushing the population bubble… hmmmm… Malthus arguments. We’d be saving the world by killing people! :sigh:

gas is 3.80 a gal here it sucks

That’s roughly the national average currently.

$4.19 here, $4.50(ish) as you get closer to Chicago… I would love the $3.80 price

It cost me $25 ($4.35 premium) to fill up my Buell yesterday…

I have no idea what it will cost to fill up the car as I have not topped it off in awhile, and don’t even want to punch up the numbers…

$25 to fill up a motorcycle!? (also… motorcycle with 5 + gallon tank!?)

Here its 1.30$ (or 40) CAN, thats 1.32 US and 0.66 UK.

But this is abnormal for us too.

Keeping in mind that, that is per liter. So roughly four times $1.30 is $5.20 per gallon.

I’m not that old, and I changed my car in november… but when I bought the previous car (my first car ever) I did happen to pay less then 35 cents (canadian) per litter. that’s about 9 years ago now.

At first I had problems putting more then 20$ into it.

now I never put less then 40$

I take the train everyday to go to work - suburbs to big city in car is a nightmare. Result, I fill her up about once per 3 weeks. Everytime its 10 cents more expansive per litter!!! (and I’m almost not kidding)

I currently own a toyota echo (used, 2003) and I can tell you lower fuel consumption is a blessing in this day and age. I should get an hybrid. or a fully electric one.

On a side note, maybe our fuel is more pricey then the US one, but our hydroelectricity is cheaper :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s got a 3.82 gallon tank with a .75 gallon reserve, but it will take over 5 gallons if you fill it to the tippy top, it’s a unique gas tank as there really isn’t a tank, the whole frame is hollow and that serves as the gas tank…
