GB1 Colored Flightsuits found...And they're cheap!!!(Update)

Hey everybody,

I was looking around for the Dark Grey flightsuits for my bro and came across this:

This means that we don’t have to go to all the trouble of dying Khaki flightsuits anymore!!! Once I get the cash, I’m going to buy one and make a more color correct GB1 costume.

Enjoy!!!

UPDATE Galaxy Army Navy only carries the Charcoal Grey in 2XL and 3XL, If you are needing a smaller size, I found them here also

They are a little more expensive but they have them in all sizes

Well, to be precise, the GB1 flightsuits were khaki suits tinted grey. Those charcoal gray suits, however, are more attuned to the GB2 “mystery colored” suit, in my opinion. Great find though. I’ve been looking for a place to get charcoal suits.

You gotta admit that color is pretty close to the greyish tint the uniforms have in the first film. It actually looks lighter than some of the Khaki/dyed grey uniforms I’ve seen on here. I’m really curious as to what it would look like with the patches and elbow pads.

I would like to see these with patches on as well, good find!

for some reason looking at the pic of the gray flightsuit, I rememberd the Rubies prototype being the same color.

Guess it was a little closer though, Not quite as gray, a nice gray khaki blend. Weird that they ended up feeling the need to make it bright khaki yellow  Ah I still proudly own one though. 8)

ive ordered one so when it gets here and i get it all done up ill post some pics.

So do you own one of those costumes? If so what does the actual proton pack that came with it look like?

It’s as good as can be expected for an inflatable pack. That’s last halloween before I really started working on a real suit and stuff. A Rubies suit when accessorized with actually wasn’t too bad. The gun in flimsy and kinda awkward to hold. There is a black plastic “hose” from the pack to gun though its basically the inflatable material only there’s really no structure to it. The hose is essentially worthless.

The details on the pack are pretty good in replicating a lot of the stuff on it. I think cardboard might have been the way to go. The gun originally looked better and solid. I wonder if it was cheaper to do it that way or what. I need to get around to putting up some pics of my current uniform and stuff I worked on since then. Basically the pack kinda completes the look but I’m definetly eager to get into the real building. At the time it was okay to me in the last minute rush to put it together but I don’t wanna get my back too used to lugging around a featherweight pack

Anyway, I wonder if the suit mentioned about could be lightened a little or given a khaki tint. I think the gray is a little too blatantly gray to me personally. Still maybe with patches, pads etc, it could be great!

EDIT: It might look something like this

though his is a nomex suit he said it was gray and it looks pretty close to the charcoal gray there.

Ecto 3A’s looks strikingly similar to the uniform color at the Sedgewick bust. Also its pretty cool to see the difference between grey and khaki side by side. I was also thinking that it could also be a good starting point to make the dark charcoal uniforms as well.

It’s pretty cool to see just some of his pics of the same uniform looking different in different lights. From the pic with Ernie to the shot with the guys in the khaki. Ahhh the colors!
