GB1 Ecto Goggles

After many different goggle builds ranging from Welding Goggles to a failed scratch built Frame,I am happy to say that I am now the proud owner of one of gb_dan’s great Goggle Frames.

The casting is great, every little detail that is present on his original frames are present in his casting,he did such a great job of molding and casting it,and I would love to grab a second pair from him in the near future.

Anyway,on to the pics:

Before anyone asks about the one metal snap while the others are resin,I was contacted by Dan about it,the middle snap had a bad air bubble in it and he replaced it with a metal one for me,I had originally planned on replacing the resin ones with metal snaps anyway so it all worked out great in the end.

They look great,

I cant wait to get my hands on my one,

keep us informed on how you get on

I will probably be getting the stuff for the lenses and straps tomorrow, meaning I should have these done relatively soon.

Ahh beautiful, can’t wait to get mine… this way I won’t be blinded by stray Lvl 3 Meson Collider bursts

Hey you know me,if it moves I blast it,and you can guarantee that it will stay dead with a Lvl 3 Meson blast.

Planning on going completely screen accurate or add in some lights and a little custom work ?

Screen accurate all the way.

Those do look great- Can’t wait to see how you do with them!

Got a lil work done on them, not much cause I haven’t gotten the stuff for my lenses and straps yet.

Dan did all the trimming and sanding for me,DO NOT and I repeat,DO NOT PM Dan about trimming and sanding the frames for free if you are on the regular list,if you wanted it for free you should have gotten in on the Pre Order, you guys should be more than able to sand and trim these things yourself.

Here are my frames all primered, knobs are outside drying still:

Hope you guys enjoy.

Looks Grey-t so far ! HA ! Oh *tear , I crack myself up sometimes.

You just enjoy yourself too much, you know that right?

So do the ladies

Back on topic though… How do you plan on attaching the lenses to your frame, i’m wondering about the best way to go about this.

Me and Dan were just throwing ideas back and forth about this exact topic after he dropped his goggles and his lenses popped off,I’m thinking about slipping through the Lense plate and gluing them from behind.

i think , to preserve the lip base and length of the lenses, why not keep them in front of the lens plate with a small slip sleeve with a lip from the back… like pvc going into a coupling,( even three screws through the lens lips, though not screen accurate ) Not sure I explained that as well as I should have… Here…

Way ahead of you on the idea,it will have the exterior surface lip base and the normal length, the exterior lip will be added after the lense is slipped through the faceplate.

I’ve given this alot of thought.

Mr.Spider I think you’re onto something… I’ll be doing that myself!

Please keep us updated on this. I’ve been racking my brain trying to figure out how to get those suckers secured tighter than Fort Knox.

You got it Ryusui!

Small update, almost there, just gotta get the straps and shes done besides a lil tweeking.
