gb2 battery plate and cup. little help

Gday guys and gals. Im building a gb2 pack and I’m interested in knowing a little more about the battery plate and cup set up behind the padded neck rest on the alice pack. I want to start building or obtain some from nick a tron. I believe from what I’ve read on here it used makita batteries. What size voltage? 7.2v or 9.6v was it used to operated the lights and sounds or just there for looks. Also do the batteries fit into Nick-a-trons cup sets. any help would be great

It was for the lights on the packs, the movie props wouldn’t have had sounds as those were added in post production.

As for the battery size, you just have to make sure it’s black since I think all their batteries that style are the same size.

Finally, the batteries will fit into nick-a-tron’s cup holders since they were specifically built for them. The cool thing you could do would be to modify them to see if you can make them actually work with the batteries you plug in!

They are the 9.6V which are longer than the 7.2V.

Cheers mate. Think my old man still has a 9.6v drill he doesn’t use. time to raid his stash. does anyone have any great pix of their battery set up. thanks again.

I purchased the plate and cup set off nick a few months back and managed to get hold of x2 9.6 batteries off eBay. The batteries fit perfect into the cup set nick sells. You will also need a metal bracket fabricating bending etc which goes over the top of the batteries. Nick did a sketch of this bracket which is found in his build thead. I have a few pics of mine built up in the build thread as well. I just used the batteries for show I didn’t use them to power any of the lights or sound.

Cheers mate. I picked up a couple of 9.6v today for $5 from battery world. Bargain. Thanks again for rthe heads up.

Home depot still sells the batteries, but no chargers since I think the drills that used them, were charged with an AC adapter that plugged into the drill. At least that’s how my dad’s old makita drill was.

I just bought a drill on ebay that had two batteries and a charger, cost? $25.00
