Well I took a page from the book o the cheap ecto goggles, and I’m pretty surprised/happy with the results. They don’t look too close to the movie, but maybe I’ll take a stab at more expensive ones later on when I have some actual money Gasp Gonna paint em tomorrow, and put on stickers, finishing them up. Wish me luck!
Cool goggles. i’m also doing some cheap ones that look like that. in fact, i’m off to put on the finishing touches after i write this! 8)
Those look really good! ![]()
How well is the paint sticking to the rubber goggles?
Thanks
I used krylon fusion, and it sticks rather well. Problem is, after 2 weeks of drying, it was still sticky. However, and everybody painting plastic/rubber/whatever may want to listen. I got the idea to spray matte finish onto the sticky paint. Deft or something like that, for spraying on charcoal drawings and the like. Well not only did it un-shine my goggles, with a few minutes under the hair dryer, they turned out perfectly smooth and non-sticky.
Oh wow, that’s good to know! ![]()
I’ve cracked paint with a hair dryer before. Too much heat, too fast, is not good.
