Good eye. Yes. You are correct. Current 1.125" wide. We are cncing a new lower pack tomorrow that will place the valley at 1.42" wide. Also correcting a couple other issues

Okay…Here’s the new lower portion of the pack. We’ve adjusted the center valley. It measures out at 1.42" wide. I have conflicting measurements from everyone of 1.25" to 1.5". On our model, what works properly in proportion is 1.42". We’re sticking with that.
Obviously, we have not done any work on this master. It has all of the step over lines and is in raw form. About 20 minutes of sanding and this sucker will be ready for sealing.
We shot the master with with Polyester Primer today. We’ll continue sanding and filling tomorrow.

This is my new favorite thread.
We started sanding today. I hate sanding. We found that the holes appeared to be too large on our cyclotron so we laser cut some reducers and inserted them. They will get filled around the edge and blended prior to the second primer coat.

I know I made it look ugly but it’ll look much more beautiful tomorrow. I’m using a lighter weight sandable filler. I’m closing the seams and then will hit the entire pack with primer again. This will show anymore texture issues before we mold.
We’re using a polyester primer to seal this up and cover all the issues. This type of primer is great for porous materials and covering heavy scratches. It’s tough and sands great.
While waiting for the filler to set up, I cut one of these tubes on the band saw to make sure it fit properly. We took the intersecting outline from the 3d model and cut vinyl templates to help us keep the cuts clean. Not bad for a couple minutes on the band saw.
