Ghost Trap 3D model

it was a heavy burden to bare but i got through the head scratching and hair pulling torment of this being my very first attempt at 3D modeling!! i prefer “digital prop building” for this one reason, if you mess up, just press Ctrl + Z!!

i got caught up in this so much i hardly captured pictures on its progress, and towards the end i got really eager to finish it so im sorry for lack of pictures on the textureing.

software used:

3ds max 9

adobe photoshop cs4

first texture idea

next ill be working on a proton pack! cheers for viewing peeps

Bravo Daint! She’s a work of art

why thank you

Very nice! Good work with the textures, achieving the look of wear on the edges and inside of the cartridge housing.

That is truly amazing! Dare I ask, is this a water tight model?

thank you kingpin! some areas need a little touch up still, but that can wait.

that’s a negative slimeguy, the cartridge and shell are both just individually grouped together for now so i can slide the cartridge out or un-group it all to edit any vertex’s ect…, thinking about making an inside to the cartridge and posssssssibly adding a sort of skeleton to the door hinges so they can open, but im still pretty new to 3D modeling

Nice to get a new look at how the cartridge vents and circles look. I never had time to add them to my cartridge but plan to do so before PKE Surge.

Pretty nice, now just get rid of the default light, change background color and tone down the ray-tracing and it should really stand out.

I tried 3DSMax before, just couldn’t get into it. Maya just felt more natural for me.

Still great model. And did you make the v-hook under it, in three parts? Why?

as i said CPU64, im new to this, only been doing it for about a month, still have ALOT to learn, any tips would be greatly appreciated! and the vhook is under it, but thanks for the comment
