Hey guys. I’m redoing my Ghostbuster Luigi a bit and buying/making a lot of new stuff, so I figured I’d show my progress so far and update until I finish! My goal is to finish before Halloween which shouldn’t be hard at all.
This is my suit progress so far. My belt is FUBAR so I’ll be ordering a fresh white one and dyeing it. The name tags are made to look like the classic Nintendo logo. I ordered a clear GBC replacement shell and put a sticker on the black frame inside. I’ll be printing a sticker of the E. Gadd symbol to put on a GBC cartridge soon. In addition, I’ll be wearing the classic GB electrical gloves instead of Luigi’s white opera gloves.
Does anyone know what kind of holster (maybe radio holster?) I could use to put my GBC on my belt but still have it visible?
I posted this in the Other Props thread, I actually already have the hose and a proper nozzle. I’m working on getting a flashlight to screw on the end, too. Since the back of it has some things that hurt on it, I’ll be mounting a board to it with a n upper back cushion in addition to straps.
Let me know what you guys think and if you have any suggestions!
Looks good. Neat idea on the Nintendo patches. Wish I’d thought of that for mine.
As for the game boy, you might be able to find an old GBC holster that would leave it visible. Not sure, though, as most of them tend to have a flip down cover that hides it. Me, personally, I plan to just carry it and the flashlight around, so a holster isn’t strictly necessary. That said, however, I’m using a tool pouch, should I desire to holster it.
Thanks for the feedback, guys! I’m looking into some radio holsters and stuff. I’ll probably put those clip rings on the belt, too as if it were a normal GB costume. I’ll post some more progress in a while!
I had a Luigi costume from a few years ago when my friend and I dressed up together that I never get to wear because I don’t feel like hearing “Where’s Mario?” all night AGAIN-LOL.
Seeing this thread as well as the “Poltergust 3000” thread has convinced me to get a vacuum and gameboy horror going and forget Mario! Seriously good work on that vacuum man… Would really love to see any progress you’ve made.
