I would love to see GB3 but Billy Murray has no love for GB N/E more . so with that said I vote GHOSTBUSTERS reboot new GHOSTBUSTERS is better then no GHOSTBUSTERS .
well if you put it like that a reboot would be better then no ghostbusters 3 . murray has been holding every thing up for the last few years . Dan a.k.a. “RAY” is the best ghostbuster by far
A Ghostbusters reboot would be awful. Nixing any kind of involvement from the original cast is just asking for a whole plate of awful from who ever they slap on to do a movie.
Thank God this couldn’t happen as long as Murray is living and breathing.
I have to be honest… I’d vote for neither. I like the franchise where it is, with two awesome movies, a couple of cartoons, and a good video game. I don’t want to see any new movies with 60 year old Ghostbusters which has the potential to be ■■■■.
Moved to the Ghostbusters 3 forum as I cannot fathom what this had to do with the fan events in the Southwest.
maybe it can be a time travling ghostbuster who changes the timeline and the way everything is.. wait why is that familier… oh yea.. Star Trek.. 
so thus im not all that for a Reboot. worse comes to worse they make an Extreme ghostbusters movie…
maybe a bit of both? GB3 with the classic cast realizing that they’re too old and finally opening up the Ghostbusters franchise by the end..
That way, we get one more movie out of the original crew, Bill Murray can finally go off and do whatever he wants to do and stop being bugged by everyone, and the guys that are still into it (Dan, Harold and Ernie) can stay as instructors/trainers for new recruits and do a cameo or have a smaller, less action oriented role in the movies..
I could see Ernie going along with the new recruits as a supervisor, while Dan and Harold stay back at the firehouse and help out by monitoring PKE readings on remote, looking up stuff in Tobin’s to help out the field team, designing new gear, etc..

The game opened up all sorts of possibilities regarding a third movie in CGI. I mean, with TMNT proving you could do justice to a long loved franchise in animated format, just bring on board Murray, Aykroyd, Ramis, Hudson, and Potts to reprise their roles for an adventure set after the game but with CGI prevelant.
That way, fans get to see the classic busters back in action, Bill Murray gets left alone regarding a third movie, and those fans are spared the sight of 60+ year old busters.
Now that all options are on the table - GB3, GBreboot (shivers), magic cgi ghostbusters (and now we’re again back in the nineties!), extreme ghostbusters… there is only one option left to be said here:
Picture GB3 with a blond Egon, a red headed Ray and a much nicer Janine… After all those were the REAL gb!
(shivers again.)
Another intresting insight would be a prequel to the movie, get some younger kids to play the boys and have the film slightly overlap into the first movie. Start them out at college, learning and going on paranormal outtings. Maybe show Egon using a EMF Meter and finally after ditching it brings out his PKE meter for the first time he ever used it. Maybe he has a difficult time using it at first and get’s the reading wrong or mixes the guys up and something funny occurs. Hell show them before they get kicked out working on the blueprints to the equipment we all know and come to love. After they get kicked out have them looking at the fire house, add a few more funny sceenes then the original movie then they finally buy it with the money they got from Ray selling his folks house. Then from there go into detail and I mean real detail on how each of the equipment was built. Show Ray and Egon working intensely on the Traps and Packs, Pete comes in and decides to play around with something and BOOM! While the equipment is being built show them repairing the firehouse, have Ray out and about shopping for the “perfect” car. Once he finds it take a few sceenes to explain how the Ecto-1 came to be. Start from almost point A to Point B on the process on everything they own or created over the years that we came to love and enjoy watching. It’d be cool to see the guys have a “tester” sceene with the proton packs out in the allyway. Once everything is detailed nicely and set up show Janine getting hired and for the ending maybe have them all standing out front of the firehall with the finished ecto-1 and pete saying “Well, I think it’s about time we open shop people! Places everyone I feel we’re in for a hell of a ride!” Or maybe have the film end alittle after that, show them eating at the table and each is doing his own thing and suddenly the alarm kicks in and they all look at each other and start running for the fire-pole then end it there. Just an idea I was kicking around for a comic book project awhile back then I thought about it being a movie and thought it would be kinda neat. Remind you not everyone has the same taste so it may not be your cup of tea haha.
It definitely would make an interesting comic.
Even though 88MPH’s “Legion” left a bad taste in the mouths of many fans, it was entertaining to read about the guys early days.
Where dose it say southwest is for fan events only I thought that it was for people in the southwest to use on all things GHOSTBUSTERS .
The regional boards are intended for users in said region to be able to coordinate specials meet ups, or to get togethers.
This belongs in the general Ghostbusters forum or GHostbusters 3 forum, and is now right fully in its place. Not anything to make a big deal about.

Back to the subject at hand. With the ages of the cast and Murray’s hesitance, they should bring back Strazynski and launch a new cartoon with the original actors voices. That way Murray doesn’t have to do anything but read and Dan and Harold could even write scripts for it. Hell even a CG show similar to the cutscene animation from the game would be great. The point is, GB3 is a pipe dream. Rebooting it would destroy the integrity of the franchise just as much as 3 probably will. The fourth Indiana Jones is a perfect example of what GB 3 will be like. More than likely the visual chemistry between the actors is gone so why not pick up where the game left off and continue to flesh out the universe in animated form. Besides a new cartoon/series will give more chances for different stories to be told and you could even do a recap of the 2 movies and the game in the first episode to get the casual viewer up to speed.

Either make a 3rd movie with ALL the originals or leave it alone. I dont want a reboot (feel like getting sick just mentioning it…) and no CGI. Don’t make it for the sake of making one, because if it sucks it will tarnish the franchise.
I would feel emotionally raped at a re-boot. Why re-do? What’s the point?
Even if a supposed third film was made, centering 90% around new recruits and new events and the prior characters/actors were only in for cameos, well, the franchise moves on. I am not saying I’d be happy with it.

I suppose this trend of taking 80’s movies and shows (Karate Kid, A-Team, the upcoming Conan) is a huge cash cow for the industry banking on the 20 to 30 year old bracket.
If Sony had the chance they would have green-lit a reboot already (ala Spiderman). Thank God they can’t without the boys in grey signing it off. I think a reboot would remove a lot of what I found appealing about the series to begin with (the characters).
GB3? Only if they can do it right.
