“No ■■■■■■ young cast”… because three fat dudes (Ernie’s still in great shape, though) in their 60s trying not to get outta breath walking up the stairs would be so much better.
I don’t think a reboot would be a good idea. In fact, I would go so far as to say that they could very easily screw up if they do a reboot. I think it best if they just move forward with the 3rd GB film. If they have to leave Bill out, then so be it. If the film is a hit at the boxoffice, then Bill has no one to blame but himself. As much as I respect Bill Murray for what he did on the first two films, he’s been the only reason that the production has been stalled as long as it has. At some point, Sony has got to say “Screw Bill, just make it!”
A reboot of the movie would be terrible, but a rerelease in 3D might be cool. I would also like a new cartoon.
