So it is confirmed that members here helped build these packs?
I’m really involved in the Star Wars prop community, and what I love about it is production uses a lot of the members parts, or even has them work on set building props
I think there is nothing cooler then members here on the forum actually working on set
Fincher Technologies has confirmed they supplied the ribbon cables. Pretty sure Freekygeeky did the wands, and I think AJ Quick has mentioned being involved in the supply of some parts, but specifically what yet. As far as I’m aware no one was on set, but certainly involved in the supply of some of the parts.
Oh, I know you’re in the Star Wars Prop community as you have some of the best threads on the RPF and you are part of all the same lightsaber runs I am on. That and your youtube channel.
As far as members of the community participating in the production. I know of some; specifically the ones listed previously and a few others. I personally was not part of production. But I have been having conversations with people so hopefully we will probably know these props inside and out better than the original ghostbusters props from the 84 film.
Speaking of multiple packs, one thing I noticed is that the pack we see Adam Savage handle in the prop trailer appears to be the same pack in the initial promo photo. All of the label weathering, shell weathering, and mobo scratches line up. Unless they are crazy detailed in replicating them, I think it’s safe to say these two packs are both the same hero pack.
I know there’s some people who like to specifically replicate particular pack versions so just FYI.
I am glad we got confirmation on some of our speculation. I am super excited to get a better look at their electronics. I am also not looking forward to trying to replicate them.
The cyclotron design honestly looks beautifully simple, and that’s what I love about it.
Looks like a slip ring connector in the middle (they allow for 360 deg rotation of wires without tangling), a bulb which is probably always “on”, and then a variable speed motor and a belt to spin the thing
If you go and check out the official apps “gear” section the animation of the cyclotron lights is very interesting the light does not appear to pass by the “windows” in the same place or intensity each time… I wonder if on the end of that spinning thing there is some kind of variation on how/where the light displays. It looks as if there is an actual “partical” or energy spinning around in there.
I wonder if only Egon’s pack is modified and the rest of the guys have their packs from GB2? In any case I guess I could just add some of the parts to mine since it’s a legacy pack lol…..
