Hey everyone; before I carry on I’d like to make a brief introduction of myself. My name is Adam and I write various fan videos an shorts while blogging for a media website. Recently I’ve been trying to get the head of the website to give us the green light on a new project I want to work on called “Ghostbusters Alliance”. The project would involve a series of new crews of Ghostbusters from around the U.S. joining forces to make a new super team called the Ghostbusters Alliance. The story is just a concept and by no means is it even close to final. If the project gets the green light we should have funding for Grade A special effects and movie accurate versions of the props.
Like I said, nothing about GB:Alliance is even close to final. The story, title, and plot are all subject to change. I have a few storylines and concepts written up, but I’ll post more as I receive new news. I plan on going to the website head in a few days after we launch the brand new site. Meanwhile tell me what you guys think of the current concept. It’s not very well rounded, but it’s getting there.
Hopefully currently it’s my concept and I’m the only one I got to sign on. I need to take this up with the website head and see who we can get to sign on if we can get anyone (by signing on I mean director, actors, writers, special effects, etc).
I would like to take the Alliance global, but with people from various countries getting involved it would be hard to find a good number of cameramen to shoot on location. If you guys would like to be involved and could someway find a good cameraman and director that would be great. I could always remotely direct the shots via the internet, but that would be a very long process. I plan on turning GB:Alliance into a 15-30 minute episode show. The goal would to try to push out two 30 minute episodes a month or push out an hour long special once a month.
How much of this is final?
Like I mentioned earlier though, none of the details are finalized and I still have to talk to the website owner to see if we could try to pick up sponsors to help with funding. If we get sponsors we could get movie accurate gear and perhaps get enough money to make some Ghostmobiles. I’m not talking about Ecto-1 per-say, but hopefully something just as cool.
Writers and cameramen?
Currently I’m looking for writers and cameramen from all around the world (if the project is finalized to go global). I will not start recruiting for cameramen until after we get the project finalized. As for writers I need writers ASAP so we can start working on some scripts and start busting out some ideas (no pun intended).
What site do you work for exactly?
As of the moment I can’t really shine the lights full force on the site until we get it up and running. The most I can mention is that I work for a brand new media site that will blog about new media as well as pushing out unique video content.
How does GB:Alliance relate to the site?
As I mentioned earlier (see “What site do you work for exactly?”) I work for a site that blogs and posts unique video content. I hope to open up a unique segment for the site’s video section which would bring a smile to any “80s” fan’s face. GB:Alliance happens to be one of the project ideas which I hope to write and produce.
On a side note…
I hope that answers a lot of questions. I’m open for questioning and open to anyone who wants to possible join in on the project.
The people over at Ectozone do have a very great storyline running, but I’m trying to look for fresh faces that don’t have a project currently under their belt. I don’t want their writing skill to be taken away from GB:Alliance since they’re also writing for Ectozone. GB:Alliance will be my first attempt at writing some GB fanfiction. Although I wish to stay on the project as kind of a writing guide (coming up with stories, new character ideas, etc) with my other projects I won’t have time to sit down and write entire scripts by myself.
I don’t doubt that the people over at Ectozone wouldn’t do a good job writing for GB:Alliance, but I have doubts about them maintaining two projects at the same time. Especially with both projects relating to Ghostbusters. I have other projects which I plan to work on around the same time as GB:Alliance so I’ll be busy trying to write those scripts by myself.
Of course when I start looking for writers for the show I’ll ask for a sample piece of original Ghostbusters fanfiction. To make sure the writers could work with specific topics with ease I would send a small plot idea which the writer would have to develop into a short piece of fanfiction and send in as the sample piece. This method of looking for writers would make sure that we’re getting fans of Ghostbusters to write the show while getting good writers at the same time.
