Are there any Ghostbusters books? Novels, children?s books, ect.
there are a number of them. once in a while they pop up on ebay. but i havent seen one for a long time. i have a couple pack away some where. i also had one you could get from like jc penny’s, or somehting like them, and it was personalized. they put the child’s name as the name of the characture the story revolved around, your address, some of your freinds names, and i think your phone number too. if i had a scanner i would scan for you to see. its pretty cool
there was the newer ibooks one but if i recall right the company went out of business so those are pretty pricey now i think
Hey, I had the same thing. It’s really funny to read now because I don’t remember hardly any of my friends my mom had put into the book. Really dated.
A long time ago, I had a some sort of GB2 coloring book (don’t know what happened to it; probably ended up in the trash eventually). It told the story of GB2, but was interspersed with ghost-related jokes (some related to GB, others simply ghosts in general). I don’t remember what else it had.
Don’t forget the Sholly Fisch book, that can’t be found for less than $100 nowadays, or Ghostbusters Legion- the latest GB comic books. The comics I know personally were excellent, and the Fisch book must have been, otherwise it wouldn’t have sold so well.
oh its good… really..
You suck. ![]()
Well, the price figure is partly due to the collapse of IBooks (Although it’s no small amusement that aside from my RGB film cels… I won a collectable :P)… the book was enjoyable… but there were some slopp mistakes.
It likely would have sold better, had Barnes & Noble not gotten all huffy about Ghostbusters ‘being a dead franchise’.
oops soory man…ive seen them on ebay pretty cheap a few times…my mom bought it when it first came out…i didnt even knnow about them goin out of business till about 3 months ago…but i wish u luck in finding one
i dont know bout the comics yet…im gettin those for xmas hopefully
Thanks… and I was only kiddin abt the suck thing. I wasn’t tryin to offend or anything- I’m just a sarcastic SOB.
I appreciate the good wishes. Thanks.
ah i know…im one too
check amazon for that sholly fisch one though, I got one there a few months ago for about $24
Amazon does have listings for 2 sequels as well…anyone know anything about how realistic that is?
Bogus listings, they were still inaccurately listing GB: Urban Legends which was what (After a title) became The Return.
The Amazon listing is a false alarm.
I have the Sholly Fisch book. First off, what kind of name is Scholly??
Anywho, I had NO IDEA it was worth anything now!
There are lots of Ghostbusters books - the bulk of my collection is print materials.
The low-hanging fruit would be the picture storybooks - they show up on ebay all the time and are pretty cool. Scholastic printed them here I think, though the same book in the UK was printed by someone else. The novelisations show up from time to time as well.
The holy grail is Making Ghostbusters, but it’s rare and expensive to find - however, a cheat is to find a copy of Cinefex 17 and American Cinematographer (June '84), as the two provide a nice look behind the scenes of the film. It’s not all the same information as Making Ghostbusters, and they are still hard to find, but they’re full of info and waaaay cheaper.
Cinefex 40 is good, lots of GB2 info. Basically, there’s lots of great Ghostbusters books out there.
A name that gets paid to write for a living - gotta respect that.
I have an old copy of Rolling Stone that came out while Ghostbusters II was filming with the cast on the cover and interviews about the movie etc. Does that count?
I would - there wasn’t quite the same level of print coverage for the second movie - it’s a pretty good article, excellent pictures, and shows up semi-regularly on ebay for not a lot of cash. Looks awesome framed.
I don’t know about the other states, but all the Making Ghostbusters books in the library are “missing”. I remember I did a search into finding a copy in the Hawaii State Library system. There were about 10 copies supposedly in the system. When I did an individual search at each library (on line), I found that all the copies were “lost”. I think someone out there was “borrowing” them and just paying the book value and not replacement value. I wonder if that is a common thing for rare books to show up “missing”, being paid for at the library for its original cost, and then being sold on ebay at a tremendous gain?
