Officer, I know deez lightz r illegal, yo, but can i turn them on and cross the street to take ironic pictures? KTHANX
This summer Boomerjinks is the Teflon Don. Nothing Sticks to him!
Pulled over?
More like "Ok officer, don’t let anyone touch the ECTO while we get some drinks. K?THXBYE
PA volunteer firefighters have blue lights on their POVs. How cool would it be to be a volunteer in PA with an ectomobile and respond to fires in it.
Ricky’s right, lightbar covers are a good idea. ( Mine are blue which still lets me drive around with blue-looking lightbars ) While I love Boomer’s game of “poke the bear” I have to admit, this constant testing of the limits could end up screwing us all when one cop gets tired of it and makes an issue out of it. I don’t care if this seems like being a killjoy but I’ve been through this on both sides of the law.

As a cop - I’ve been in the breifings before every shift where a Lt. comes in and says “Last night officer so-and-so stopped and it turns out he’s been doing this for a long time and none of you ever took the initiative to act on it. From now on, both and all other people found to be committing will now be cited. No more excuses. You’re here to enforce a law, not your personal opinions.” This is pretty much what’s going to do down on the day Boomer gets cited and the rest of us start getting slammed as well.

As private citizen - When I worked for Rancho Santa Fe patrol we ran yellow and green lightbars. There was never any vehicle code that prohibited those by definition but then one day a specific San Diego cop got a hair up his ass and cited us for “unauthorized lights.” Sure, it didn’t name green by name but when he went to court he argued that green isn’t specifically allowed therefore they should be considered “unauthorized.” The judge bought it, fined the security company and now the statutory law of “unauthorized lights” was accompanied by the case law of finding any car running green lightbars to be in violation. In effect he sort of created this law by tacking his opinion onto an existing and highly flexble law. Thatis just how the law works and sometimes your own actions
Sorry if you see me as the killjoy Ghostbuster but it’s because I’ve lived through those two above and I don’t think some of you are quite getting it. If you wanna go through life thinking you’re bulletproof it’s just a matter of time until you’re proven wrong. I just don’t want you to ■■■■ it up for me all because your ■■■■■ were bigger than your brains.
That having been said? I love how you guys duplicated the Atlanta vid almost word for word. Funny stuff AJ. Cool to finally see AJ in something.
I like to the parody to “the story of antoine dodson”.
Really they just wanted pictures and to be in the presence of Ecto 1. We all want to be in the presence of Ecto 1.
'sides cops are just people busters, they’re like extended family; only we’re the family member everyone loves.
Here in Canada you can drive with lightbars exposed. we have a few guys with old police cars / replica of the dukes of hazzard sherrif car. they are allowed to display lights and sirens on private property or down at the beach. the vehicle must remain staionary, this light/siren display may not occur while on city streets/highways.
Awesome video is Awesome !
The only way a man gets out of so many tickets is if the ghost of Johnnie Cochran is riding shotgun.
Whoa! Did those cute black girls suddenly turn into fugly white boys. How did they do that?!
Fukken master blasters.
i live in north carolina and im trying to get a car made. i went 2 the police department and they said no red or blue lights are alowed on non police vehicles. but orange (like on a tow truck) would be fine. so thats what im doing so i wont be pulled over. not screen accurate but i wouldnt get tickets
We are in NC as well.. but way over in hicksville Western NC.. the local cops don’t have any issue with our car at all.. they just chuckle when they see it. As long as we aren’t doing something stupid like running the lights when we are moving they are cool with them.
I think it also depends on how close your car might look to an actual police car. Ours is obviously something odd or unusual, but something more pro looking might bring up an issue if we attempted it.
I love this video
It would not be cool. It would be idiotic - I also believe this has been discussed on the stupidity of using an Ecto as a legitimate emergency response vehicle.
Ecto’s are topheavy. Bad mojo for emergency responses.
I think its idiotic to respond anywhere but the station, no wonder so many firefighters are killed every year responding to calls.
I love all of the GB cars being made
