Join Ghostbusters Fans on Monday December 17th as we play Ghostbusters: The Video Game on Xbox Live! We’re already expecting over a hundred fans, and hope for even more! Just pop your copy of Ghostbusters: The Video Game into your Xbox, sign on to Xbox Live between 7PM - 10PM (in the US) and join a multiplayer game!
Sorry PS3 users. The Ghostbusters multiplayer server was recently shut down. If the server does happen to come back up by then, we’ll be playing on Playstation as well!
I’ll be all over this…my xbox tag is Dr. Spengs as well (SO CREATIVE). I’m looking forward to it, I can’t remember the last time I got to play a Survival match with a full team of 4. Sad to hear about the PS3 servers…I’ve been worrying about the fate of the games online play lately. Since we’re on the topic of the game’s multiplayer, I have a query for anyone in the know-One of my favorite things to do is set up a private Survival match for myself just to bust some ghosts, especially when no other players are to be found. If/when the xbox servers are shut down, will this option become unavailable? In other words, will it make the entire Multiplayer menu of the game useless, or will it just be impossible to connect to another player? I’d imagine it’s the latter, but if anyone feels like assuaging my worries, please do!
Atari announces upcoming shutdown of Ghostbusters: The Video Game multiplayer servers. No word on if they will be shutdown before our event on Monday the 17th!
“Ghostbusters Recruits – we regret to notify you that we have shut down the Containment Unit behind the Ghostbusters Video Game servers for all platforms. Since the game launched in October 2009 we’ve had some great times busting ghosts online, but after three years we’re seeing that player volume has dropped. Please note, this shutdown won’t have any effect on single player or local multiplayer play.”
I think I’d better spend as much time as possible playing multiplayer this weekend, then…hope to see some other busters out there…again, Dr. Spengs on xbox live. As soon as I finish my pizza and My Little Pony, I’ll be popping the game in.
Guess I’ll have to try to get my multiplayer achievements again before they shut the whole thing down. Gives me a reason to turn my box back on though.
