Found this clip on photobucket. Kinda funny. Decent look at an OOOOOOLD game that I dont’ even remember!
language warning the guy giving the commentary isn’t really happy with the game. But seeing the Ecto JUMP over obstacles is worth it!

One of the few games that still plays on my NES heh
dude that guy was sooooooooooooooooo funny!!!
“Somehow the car can jump but it can’t run over a f@$#ing barrier” Classic

I totally remember playing that game!
god that guy was a hoot…he was hilarious
I still have that game, it was notoriously hard
the only weapon you had was the Slime Blower, and you died with one hit, and to force you to keep moving a small spider kept chasing you (as you can see in the clip), if it touched you, you died
you could only slime a small number of enemies, everything else was invincible
it went like this
normal stage
driving stage
normal stage
driving stage
normal stage
Statue of Liberty stage
Statue of Liberty stage
Statue of Liberty stage
normal stage x4
driving stages were incredibly hard, not shown in the video were giant gaps you had to jump over which got bigger and bigger, and unless you hit the boost and jumped at EXACTLY the right moment you would fall into the gaps and die, then they eventually threw in multiple gaps, sometimes 3 jumps long
then you got Statue of Liberty stages in which you had to control her while walking in the water, her torch was the weapon and an endless amount of ghosts poured out to get you, these stages were also ridiculously long, you walked for what seemed like forever
then the kicker was the musuem stage, not only was it incredibly hard but you had to complete it FOUR TIMES IN A ROW to actually beat it (each time with a different Ghostbuster)
the game was not very long and that is why the developer made it so damn hard, a cheap way to extend the game
I recently played it on an emulator and finally beat it via cheating (saving the game and reloading when I died, which eventually ticked me off so bad I finally found a Game Genie code for infinite lives and used that, lol) and found out I was only TWO stages away from beating it when I played it as a kid

Frankly I am really tired of these knock off Angry Video Game Nerd videos. I mean we all know the AVGN just covered all the GB games save New GB II, but still this guy is no where near as funny or original which isn’t to say the AVGN is the most original either.

There were so many holes in the middle of 1st Ave. that they really didn’t think anyone would notice.
Ooops…killed the quote function.
I owned this game and could never get past the courthouse level. I bought the game when I was 10 or so, and even then I was thinking “How do they have the slime blower in the very beginning”.
Personally, i never got past the subway level…and I was equally mad at not being able to use a proton pack. At least the Sega Genesis ghostbusters game kind of made up for that (and I was able to beat that one).
Sega GB… best GB game hands down. New GB2 is good, but in the US it isn’t in cart form save the Gameboy version, which doesn’t count. It was the whole reason I bought a Genesis way back when.
The Genesis version is the only one that I know of where the Ghostbusters actually look like the actors that played them (sort of)…excluding Winston, of course, who was absent from the game for some reason. The gameboy version of GBII wasn’t all that bad, in my opinion. I don’t know of any other game that regularly uses the proton stream as it was in the movies. The original GB game sort of did, but only in a rather indirect way. Not that I would know directly, but it also seems that Vigo was far easier to beat in the gameboy version than in the NES version.
I agree. Though The AVGN is has his fair share of LAME…for someone to rip him off is pretty ridiculous. Foolish.
Gee, I never thought it was a hard game. Today, at 23, I can beat it in like 15-20 minutes. Still like it for its nostalgic feel.
i got my copy of this signed by Aykroyd the other day
