I’m starting this topic just because there isn’t one.
Here you can talk about how you can link together your guys franchises.
However I have an idea for all who wish to do so.
This Idea is make a GB web series. I don’t think this will be as hard as you all think.
you see, every month there will be an episode. Each episode will have different franchise’s. Just for instance. 1 month it could be my franchise the next someone else’s and so on and until it’s your turn again you have time to write, film, and edit the Episode. And we could make it a community process. I’m willing to make Proton beams and such. I can’t make a Ghost very well though. Anyone could help if they wanted to. Everyone can lend a hand. Like my specialty is Proton beams and a numerous of other effects. Someone else’s could be making a ghost trap effect. Or even 3D modeling. Just work together and it can be DONE!

Pretty interesting idea. It would work if you included those not really in a franchise too. Just remember not all franchises want to do films.
Speaking of… How’s your film commng along? I havn’t heard anything new.
Yea sounds cool…
The Elite have wanted to do a film for a while. We have some ideas for a story and will prob start working on it soon.

Cool. Dan… this is kinda new, i mean i was putting it together piece by piece for this. so um yeah.
Uploading a possible rough edit of a theme/opening for international GB. hopefully it’s done soon!
I shot some stuff for YouTube videos of my “home” franchise, and this will loosely tie in with our “big” Pittsburgh Movie. I have to fix my puppet sidekick and film him, too. (I have to fit in in with my wife and son, friends, work, prop-building etc. ) sounds like a good idea, though.
It’s finally uploaded took forever. it’s just a rough edit on what the opening could be like. it’s a little messed up though i edited it with 24 frames by accident and was suppose to be 30 frames oh well.
I saw the video–some parts the camera movement was too fast–made me sea sick. If you had more people in there, it would help, too. Good start, though..
A foreseeable problem with this would be the level of quality between episodes. Some folks can’t afford or get access to higher end equipment and may not know what do in terms of making a video piece. Also someone would have to make a show bible that would have a list of do’s and don’ts. Also tone would be an issue. I know that we’re are doing our series with a darker tone. You would either have to let everyone do their own thing or someone would have to set the tone. Some folks may not want to adhere to that. So basically it would come down to consistency. While this is a great idea, there are way to many variables to make it work. Fan films are tough to make and also take a long time to shoot depending on story and actors. Sorry to be negative, it’s just seems like a huge undertaking is all.
Good points, DarkSpecter. I figure ours will take a year, but with a 100% volunteer cast and crew, that may be optimistic.
There will be a large variance of talent, tech, and tones with the fan films. But, an Indy film festival offers lots of types of movies, as does YouTube. Maybe an open ended forum might be better than limiting it to a certain set of rules. The genre is already limited to Independent film>fan film>sci-fi>comedy>Ghostbusters. Sure, there will be ■■■■ (and people have different opinions on that) but there may be some good ones, too.
I’m for open ended submissions, and yes, it will be hard to gather stuff and get it to work together. Might be worth a try…
well it doesn’t really matter on the quality of the film if we have a good story arc and can get the story told it doesn’t really matter on how it looks. And if they don’t want to do this idea well thats there choice. the Video doesn’t have to be consistent but I’d say the story should, and as long as the effects are similar it should be fine. it’s just the fact that the GB community would come together to work on something we all know and love.
But that’s what i pointed out. Someone would have to map out an Arc for the series to follow. Plus as brad mentioned. It could take years to get a few episodes done.
