Penning the story is Rob Williams, who has worked on Indiana Jones and SFX. Covering the art side is Astro Boy's Diego Jourdan.
This could be a cool story, the ghosts of Christmas aren’t new territory for the Ghostbusters… but I think it could be done well, and a new Christmas-themed story is always a plus… don’t know if Diego’s art will be good as the samples on Google Images seem to vary… although if it’s similar to his G.I.Joe stuff then it should be good.
Don’t want to be a jerk, but is anyone else getting an 88mph feel from that slimer there?
I can’t find the picture right now, but looks pretty similar to that “Vermin Problem?” promo picture that they released early on, just a bit less sinewy and creepy in the body here. It’s the face that struck me as being familiar.
Defrinitely looking forward to this though! Always looking forward to more GB comics…until I’m given a reason not to (Looking at you “Other Side”…)
The RGB episode was one of my favorites, so I’m interested to see if these guys can top it.
The art is pretty boring, though. I got a trade paperback recently of “Truth, Justin and the American Way,” and while the story was kind of average, the art was fantastic. The artist was Giuseppe Ferrario (http://www.giuseppeferrario.com/) and he would be fantastic for a Ghostbusters series. Very expressive, distinctive art.
The art in all the recent Ghostbusters series has been fairly bland, and so has the writing. They either need to bump up the writing quality or get some fantastic artwork in there.
I humbly disagree. The art in this and Displaced Aggression is fantastic… though this artist’s power level just went up to 9000 for using the dark suits! Those things need to come out more often!
But I would be lying if I didn’t say I had a dream artist in mind for a GB comic…

…I think Stuart Immonen (last few arcs on Ultimate Spider-Man before the stinking ■■■■ fest that was Jeph Loeb’s Ultimatum) would be spectacular on a GB book.
I also have to say that a Ghostbusters comic doesn’t neccesarily need the sort of quality work that was in Captain America around the time he was assasinated, or in Ultimate Fantastic Four during the run that introduced the Marvel Zombies… Ultra realistic doesn’t have to be a prerequisite, and I have to say I’m quite happy with the artwork of Displaced Aggression, and the stuff they’re planning to use in the Christmas special… because in contrast, the art of The Other Side's interiors was most definitely bland.
Lol…Diamond’s order form for December, for some reason, lists a release date of January 6, 2010. Seems a little late, doesn’t it?
But then again, according to Diamond’s order forms, Ghostbusters: Displaced Aggression#2 wasn’t supposed to be out until this week. I’m sure there’s some arcane reason behind it, but it’s kind of amusing.
To work in the direct-market comic industry, from creator to publisher to retailer, is to feel the icy eternal monopolistic ■■■■■■■-grip of Diamond Distributor.
The guys at Mirage always had pretty good reps when they had to deal with Diamond, but the company and the system itself was pretty ridiculous from what I could gather.
It’s good to see some other distro groups popping up. It ■■■■■ me that for some reason my local doesn’t receive Displaced Aggression due to distribution restrictions on Diamond’s end, especially when we got The Other Side without delay.
