Well its been awhile since i last posted but anyway ive been getting pretty interested in RPG D&D type of games. I was looking on around at different games and i came across Ghostbusters RPG and i was wondering if its anygood or any of you have experience playing it.
A little more information would help. West End games produced two editions:

Ghostbusters: A Frightfully Cheerful Roleplaying Game came out in 1986, about the same time as The Real Ghostbusters, (but doesn’t reference it). It was the first offiicial product to make use of the franchise concept Venkman mentioned in the movie, as an idea for the player characters. It’s a very loose, simple system, and you can see the genesis of some of the game mechanics that West End would refine in their Star Wars games .

Ghostbusters International was the second edition, which West End put out in 1989 to take advantage of the GB2 hype, and it’s one of the few licensed products to use the GB2 logo. It’s basically the same mechanics as the first edition, but it’s slightly more formalized on things like encumberance and difficulty numbers. It’s still more “rules lite” than West End’s Star Wars, though.
I played the heck out of both of them back in the day. I ran stories with my brothers that I still mine in fan fics.
There’s also an online d20 Modern OGL Ghostbusters game by Micheal Tresca, which would be, by it’s d20 nature, heavier on the “D&D type game” angle. I never played it, but if you’re familiar with the d20 system it might be worth a look:
(Don’t let my name in the credits ■■■■ you–it’s just there because Mr. Tresca asked permission to use stuff from the Timeline)
