Hi guys and girls , just about to buy a gizmo kit from spongeface, but don’t know what I’m buying
His more expensive kit looks out of this world accurate , but from what I’m reading it’s ‘GB 1’ ? Do I need a 'GB2 ’ gizmo as that’s the type of pack I’m getting or is a ‘GB1’ gizmo ‘universal’ ? So confusing !!!
Well they didn’t use the GB1 Gizmos in GB2 so there’s no universal gizmo. However plenty of people use a GB1 Gizmo with a GB2 pack…
One thing to remember, GB2 Gizmos are much easier to build than the GB1 Gizmo.
There’s also the GB1 stunt gizmo, which is pretty similar to its GB2 counterpart. I’m not sure why so many people panic over the belt gizmo; it’s more or less just a flat board with some tubes and raised squares shoved into a tape measure holder.
Right. The black one is based on the gizmo used in GBII. As far as I know it was made of leather and looked pretty rough. It would be appropriate if you’re building a GBII style suit or you have a lot of GBII gear (slime blower, Gigameter, KUD Meter, lifegard, etc.).
The other is from the original film. It was a calculator circuit board. It’s more noticeable in the first film.
The one used in the video game is closer to the original gizmo but a little different.
My opinion…just buy it and have fun with it. It is an incredibly accurate piece, a whole lot of fun to put together and Spongeface himself has been one of the most professional and accommodating sellers I have dealt with on this site. But if you don’t need a Gizmo then find a Lifeguard 2 to add to your belt.
