Hey all, looking to upgrade my belt gizmo (got one from Ksgkreations) to one that’s a bit sturdier and more accurate (it’s basically snapped in half and held together with tape and glue). I had my eye on the kits Spongeface was offering, but it seems that’s no longer on the table, though he did recommend EctoLabs. I swung by their site and it seems like everything’s just sold out, so not sure if they’re still making them at all.
Was honestly on the fence about a kit since I neither have the technical skills nor the space to put them together, but was willing to buy something and maybe see if a local within the community might have been able to help out. Otherwise, would greatly appreciate a gizmo to purchase with similar appearance and specs to the above two.
EctoLabs do small runs, and they sell out very fast. You can sign up to be notified for their next run, not too sure how soon that will be. In the past he’s done assembled kits for an extra fee, so that’s an option you could discuss if you go for one on the next run. There’s not really anyone else doing them to that standard though.
FANNSTAR on Etsy offers sticker sets, you can go pancake Gizmo, like my first:Which didn’t look too bad from a distanceSometimes he offers these:They have no lights, but I had a rechargeable LED from an old speaker that worked out pretty good. The leather holster was from Stantz Industries on Etsy who also offers gizmos.
FantasticPlasticLLC Offers 3D printed gizmos, with the above stickers a bit of paint, some wires and the holster you can have a pretty good setup.
I hope that helps

If you’re looking for a pancake gizmo, Spongeface has one for sale that looks really nice. I have built the Spongeface GB2, green EctoLabs 84, and have a brown 84 Spongeface kit in my build queue. They are all great and I have found the EctoLabs to be quite robust. I have been meaning to grab a Spongeface pancake gizmo at some point.
Gotta bear in mind it’s one guy running it in his spare time, so timescales for runs can be fluid depending on what else he has going on in his life. He’s finishing up his first run of Haslab trap electronics, so that *might *free up space for another gizmo run.
I spoke to him earlier and he’ll need to get more boards manufactured, but he’s upgraded his 3D printer which will reduce his print time for some of the components, so that’ll make his life a bit easier when he next does a run. No ETA on it yet though.
Yes, there will be another Gizmo run as soon as possible - this is the EctoLabs ‘flagship’ product so I’ll be doing them for as long as people want them! I usually do limited runs at various times during the year, so anything that says sold out on the website just means they are unavailable at the moment. Bear in mind they are very popular and tend to go very fast when pre-orders open. I don’t have a timeline at the moment, but I recommended joing our EctoLabs+ Facebook group where new runs will be announced first.
