Yeah but every time I look at them, I’ll have that sour taste in my mouth… LOL!
My parents were in the millitary and as kids me and all my siblings played around with these same lights all the time (i’m pretty sure I even used them to play Ghostbusters with as a kid, haha! They came with different lenses that would turn the light red or blue, and they also had this weird opaque cone that you could put on it). Whenever the power would go out during a storm or whatever, we all had one of these in our rooms. I have a few I plan on hooking up the rest of the AZGB team with. I’ve already been wearing one on my pack since late last year, though I need to find a better way to attatch it. I’m not exactly rolling with a regulation alice frame :mrgreen:
Couldn’t you just make a simple black cloth loop “holster” for it, and then just put velco on the back ond on your existing alice stand in?
That way you could still use exactly that when you upgrade to an alice frame, and the cost is minimal.
(Though personally I don’t think I could live without our alice frames, they distribute the weight so well that you hardly know you are carrying anything at all on your back.)
Speak for yourself, my shoulders are a bit tender for a day or two after a convention weekend. lol
I would think that velcro wouldn’t be strong enough to hold one the flashlight on very long, would it? I used to have a couple of the flashlights from my uncle who was in the military and I remember they weren’t heavy, but probably just enough to pull off the velcro if you move too much.
I’ll figure something out.
Oh, and trust me, I’ve worn both an alice frame and mine, and between the straps, lower back support, and the fact that my pack weighs all of 10 lbs. while still looking decently accurate and having lights and sound, I like mine a little more :mrgreen:
Our packs and guns also weight less then 12 pounds, and we were dancing in them at a club for a hour or so last halloween.
Also if you get the good black heavy duty velcro, I think they say that 1 inch can hold 5 pounds. Since the flashlight even with batteries would weigh less then a pound, and you’d have probably 2 inches square holding it, I don’t think there would be any problem at all.
Cool news about the flashlights! Got a couple of these myself a wee while back.
Wouldn’t the simplest way to attatch it be to sew a 3" strip of 1" olive webbing across the shoulder pad - just sewn through the stitching already there?
Basically replicating the bit on the military ‘Y’ shape harness? Use the belt clip they have on there for that very purpose! 
Here’s a tip to lighten the flashlight, but retain the ability to switch them on - get a couple of AA-cell to D-cell adaptors. Basically hollow D-cell shaped boxes you fit AA’s into.

Never heard of those battery adapters, Coz! Funny you are posting today.. I’m trying to duplicate your pke lint brush trick.. I have the same lint brush.
And you were NOT kidding when you said everything insode it is small!
I even have a snap off utility balde switch as well.. just not sure I can get the arms working properly. (The wood split when I drilled out the mounting holes in the arms) Superglueing now…
I never got them at all from that ebay deal, so I ordered them here the other day. (We decided the “c” battery sized ones were the best option.)
To attach the radio, on my pack, we sewed a cloth strip to the shoulder pad, and slipped the ■■■■■■■■ the radio through it. (The wife’s fit her fine, but because of the fit issues, we had to come up with something differernt.)
She hemmed more of that material on our sewing machine, so when the flashlights come in, we’ll attach them in that same fashion, with a cloth strip for the clasp on the back of the flashlight.
I should have them tomorrow, or the following day, as well as good patches and nametags as well.

Question: it looks like there is a botton that pops up when you turn them on just above the switch. Anyone know why it does that, or what it is actually for?
I’m thinking maybe a temp on thing?
Yeah.. its for signaling or perhaps even Morse Code.
Just press it to turn it on, and depress it to turn it off. Sliding the switch up and down repeatidly would be difficult.
If your referring to me…then yes I totally missed that. Not gonna lie I barely read the thread before chucking a hand full of 2 cent pieces into it.
Thanks, AJ.. we scrounged around, and couldn;t find anything here with c batteries in it, so I’ll pick up a few sets at walmart today.
We figure we can also always use more lights for camping as well.
