Can’t zoom in, but are those an '84 trap and PKE in there? Or are they just the Afterlife versions? I’m just getting back into GB due to the -'84 pack and while I just purchased a “2 in the box”, I am far from an expert on the nuances.

Are the green straps hidden, or am I going to have to find an alice pack for the 84 pack? Just noticed that.
They’re mostly hidden, you can see the kidney strap just to the left of the red and blue hoses behind the Power Cell tubes.
Not for nothing, but you still may want to look for an ALICE frame with straps and the eventual 3rd party mounting hardware from whomever is supplying it (I think someone said somewhere that GBFans’ shop will be carrying a set). The straps that come with the pack makes it very school backpack with a hard back. It does the job, but it’s not super comfortable.
If it’s anything like the afterlife pack yeah, it’s not comfy. However, it is convenient they include it. Pros and cons. I had a smaller alice pack frame that worked fine for the spirit pack but haven’t gotten around to buying a bigger frame yet. If i were going to a con, yeah i’d want alice pack, but for something small like a Halloween party the straps will do.

Towards the end, Zachary Spina mentioned the following:
-when the pack is on external power, anytime a switch on the Neutrona Wand is hit, it will wake up the Proton Pack.
-The team also redesigned the hose connection points for a more secure connection. There are new light and sound sequences in the newest model.
-The sounds, when the pack is in always-on mode, will not time out

I guess I can hope it gets restocked. OR ill swap my MIB Spengler pack for one or sell it and purchase ne.

I neglected to mention but during the YHS Holiday Stream-A-Thon: about 74 min in, Pat demonstrated the '84 Proton Pack’s overheat function, revealed the packaging and Emily confirmed once preorders are shipped they will look at what remaining inventory there is and put it online.
I saw that but I hope it’s not quick as it is on the wands. Would be nice to have 2 minutes to have some playtime before it starts.
I have to admit, as impressed and pleased as I am with the wand, I was very surprised to see we get maybe 30 seconds of play before it goes into overheat and shuts down. I mean the guys fire for more than 30 seconds in the movie. We should be able to as well.
During the stream a thon, I don’t think Hasbro mentioned if the 84 wand will become available again. I wonder if they will given they made a point to say they decided to make new GB1 figures to compliment the Ecto because they didnt realize that not everyone may have them from years’ past. I feel this would fall into that same category.
Unless, of course, they did mention it and I’m just a big buffoon.
I’ll have to double check but pretty sure I asked twice in the live chat, too, but they didn’t comment on the wand.
Also, I wonder if s/o with expertise in coding would in theory be able to extend the amount of time it takes for the wand to overheat…
the changes to the LEDs are terrible IMO. If they wanted to remove afterlife option completely then just leave it as 1 LED or diffuse the lens more
I can appreciate that they’re trying new things to separate this from the Spengler pack, but 84 mode on the Spengler with 1 middle LED, and 84 on my GPStar modded pack/LED combo is also amazing.
It is only a production sample so it’s not final. I’m sure Pat noticed it or if not, they’ll see this thread.
I just got an email saying the 84 pack is being delayed to May 4, 2026. While I can patiently wait (it will be a nice “end of the school year gift” - I work at a college), I am minorly bummed as I was hoping to wear it to C2E2 this year. In any case, I can only imagine them working on it longer to make it even better!
Got the same email. Received another saying the same regarding the Ecto Glow Ecto-1.
