Seeing a few comments on Facebook and reddit saying the quality of this looks lower and some parts look badly vacuformed. Anyone else agree? To me it mostly looks like the spengler pack with some parts swapped out.

I mean… the Spengler pack was essentially a GB2 pack with some extras bolted on, so yeah, that makes sense. Anything that looks “cheap”, I can only assume was put together quick and dirty to make the announcement. I’m happy to see the ribbon cable and ion arm fittings are correct! I won’t be getting one, but I’m excited for those that want one!

Wonder if we’ll see a 84/89 PKE and trap in a year or two

This news really made my weekend! Really pleased that I will now have a Proton Pack to go with my Haslab PKE Meter and Ghost Trap. Going to pick up a 1984 style Nutrona Wand in the near future, to go with my pack.

It’s wonderful how a decent proton pack is becoming so accessible. I would have loved this years ago, even more as a kid. I did preorder one, but to leave it as it is.

Holy shit! I was the first person to say they’d never do another pack, yet here we are!

Everybody forgets the first image(s), are just factory samples/warehouses and will be refined over time.

Say some other things that will never get made! :stuck_out_tongue:

Im hyped. Im tempted to buy 4 of them and 3 more wands as i do have the 84 wand and 2 spengler wands, and at 300 dollars thats a fair price.

problem is…space. Where the hell do i put 4 of these lol?I have enough trouble finding a proper spot for the Spengler pack, let alone 1 84 pack…imagine having 5 of them…at that point i would need my own firehouse to just store all this stuff. If i were only rich…

As for the figures…not crazy about them but i’ll likely pick them up. These are all pre orders right…i have until march of next year to pre order them right…its not a haslab deal where i got to pay for these within a time frame, and they are likely to be avalable after they release still though hasbro correct?

speaking of which, whats the deal with this years haslab? are we still getting one? Im actually fine if we dont. I spent a ton last year on the two ecto-1s. I could do with a break this year.

Ideally id like to get 4 packs, 3 more wands, more custom jackets from Mondo in the style of “The Real Ghostbusters” and the figures…id love to find out more about the blitzway figures as well…any update on those?

man im going broke buying ghostbusters stuff…might have to take out that 3rd mortgage on the house lol!

Do we NEED a HasLab announcement after this? That said, we MIGHT still get a hint later in the year. I know they’re gearing up for a new Transformers HasLab announcement on the 10th

image **Hmmmm… February 19th 2024, I said it, and nowa new modified 1984 as first built Proton Pack version appears!

Honestly, I’m still hoping for the Frozen Empire Compact Arm Thrower in a future announcement.**image

Well, the three GB HasLabs have all started campaigns in Octobers, 2021, 2023, and 2024 respectively. Though in 2021 and 2023, they waited until that October to reveal. Whereas with Ectomobile, the teases started on GB Day then a full reveal at SDCC. But not this time because the focus is on the Kenner Ecto-Glows at SDCC and fall. They have been able to ship a HasLab once a year the past 3 years. Ectomobile being shipped this fall. So presumably the next HasLab campaign could start this October then ship to backers in fall 2026 in theory. But on the other hand, with 2 pre-orders and a big slate of Ecto-Glow coming soon, HasLab could take a break this year. Hard to say.

I kinda hope they do to be honest with ya. The new pack and figures, plus the ecto glow line…is more then enough for the year in my view. That combined with the mondo figures we are getting this year (if you pre ordered one) and the ectos at the end of the year, plus im still waiting for whats up with the Blitzway re release… we got a ton of Ghostbusters Stuff to look forwards to.

Also this year, the money i’d usually put towards a haslab project, id like to put towards the rumored Lego Star Trek The Next Generation Enterprise D…if the rumors are true thats a must have set and thats bound to be 500 dollars plus.

Last year for both Ecto’s for the Haslab, i was over 800 dollars in the hole, and thats a ton of money for me for item i wont see for an entire year! I need a break spending wise, espically with the cost of things going up everywhere.

Im actually shocked the pack is only 300 dollars and the figures are only 100. Im going to try to get the Ecto Glow stuff but im not going out of my way to get those. Im cool without them but i do like the idea of the glowy ecto.

I decided I’m not letting another Proton Pack slip away and pre-ordered it.

Boy was the site finicky getting from step 2 to step 3 though. 3 times I have to prove I was a human to continue.

Man, what a great surprise for this year.

Off to refresh myself which frame to buy. Rothco was it?

as someone who had no choice but to sell their Haslab pack earlier this year, honestly I’m in tears. It’s another chance, and being a bit more stable financially, hopefully one I can hold on to.

Ok mushy stuff aside, down to brass tacks. Sounds like we are missing the rumble motor, which I’m good with as I had mine off all the time, just he 84 sounds and lights which makes sense. Still wish there was a way for the wand to be more interactive with the pack but I guess that’s truly not possible. The USB-C thing really interests me cause I’m curious where they hid it. Maybe the “snack box” finally has a good use. Lastly…how do you turn the dang thing on? It looks like it’s missing the Big Red Switch ™ so I’m wondering if there’s a much more subtle way to turn it on…maybe buying it dinner.

Got just under a year to save for it…LET THE BUGETING BEGIN!!!

The switch is still there under the Ion Arm, it’s just black now.

That’s amazing!, there’s just something super satisfying about thunking that switch to the side. I’m curious if the vestigial switch is still there too, that one’s a lot harder to spot from head on

Under the Gear Box? That one appears to be gone, which makes sense, as that one definitely wasn’t on the '84/'89 Packs.

I’ll be honest I was in the camp of people who never thought this would happen. Despite the constant cries of a Haslabs re-release I strongly was convinced that because hasbro included a 84 mode and stickers set in the package that no dedicated 84 style pack would ever come out. But I guess spirit has proven the demand is there and hasbro can sell internationally where spirit do not.

My Haslabs pack is pretty heavily modified but I didn’t take much hesitation to preorder this new 84 one.

This is great news!

I can’t wait to get this one and try to weather it a bit. It will be a challenge to make it look slightly worn as opposed to worn a lot like the AF pack. But I always loved that shiny OMNI magazine Zeddemore pack. Might have to experiment with different clear coats though as a matte (which was suitable for the AF pack) would likely ruin the look of this imo.

Also, although the marketing pics show single light sources in the cyclotron LEDs, the text says 25 LEDs, which would mean 3 leds per cyclotron quadrant + the 13 leds in the power cell. I can’t wait to see if the animation is different from the '84 mode on the Afterlife Spengler pack.

Watched Toy Anxiety’s video with Hasbro yesterday and to sum up what was said about the pack (7:44 mark):

-redid the electronics inside, no rumble motor

-went for 1984 accuracy for the mode when it turns on, made sure the ribbon cable was very accurate

-retooled the pack so it’s 80% new, went in removing all the dents, nicks aging, cleaned it up
