Hearse/Ambulance Ecto-Conversion Spotted Thread

Though they have a massive group, I believe they have a standard vehicle they’ve put some logos on.

Hhmmm, I would’ve swore I had seen a video of them rolling around in a 59 Superior.

I remember that video. I believe it was up sometime last year on a radio station website. It’s in a thread around here somewhere.

Here’s a couple more photos of Trevor’s Ecto-1A from the Cadillac LaSalle Club of Australia website:

This is the caption for the above photo:

Trevor is an electrician in Queensland and I remember reading an article in LaCad Magazine that he uses the “Ektoh” as his work vehicle. I think it’s also been converted to a station-wagon for his family.

I’ll pass this along to my Shriner brothers… :stuck_out_tongue:

I think it’s safe to assume that this coach

is now this Ecto.

Also, recently found this.

Looks like it’s seen better days, or will soon?

Another car, in similar condition. What do you guys think, was this once a glorious conversion and now it’s fading away, or is it still being built?

Hopefully this picture was taken while that hearse was traveling at 40,000 mph, so that moments later it was ramped off of this earth on a trajectory that will plunge it into the ■■■■■■■ sun.

Thoughts, feelings?

I think the second-to-last picture is in the process of being built. I have no proof, but I’d prefer it that way. Also, the chrome is still nice and shiney, so I’m assuming they take care of it, and wouldn’t peter out halfway through a conversion. I will say I’m intrigued by that same Ecto, as well…I enjoy that model and trim. Something about it flows right, especially with the red fins.

I’m not really a fan of that model Cadillac.

It looks like the top of the car and the bottom aren’t proportional to each other. The windows are huge but the body of the car is small, if that makes sense.

Kind like so…

You’re right…from the side profile, it looks wrong. I guess it was just that rear 3/4 profile picture you posted that made it look nice.

Just spotted on flickr. Olds conversion. It has potential if someone rescues it.

I’m on overload trying to process it all.

Kevin, your commentary is perfect and says it all. I can’t add to it. You nailed it right down to each and every little “No. Oh no.”

I love the make-a-buck car that says they sell childrens costumes and then right next to it, adult costumes. Nothing says “family friendly” quite like “take the little’uns to buy a costume and while you’re there, pick up a ■■■■■■■■ at the adult costume store next to it.” Mom can pick up a Jedi costume for the kids and a ■■■■■■ costume for herself. How grand. ( Oh, listen! I can hear another chunk of society falling off into the ocean. )

“sold” to a “museum” = “impounded by police” more liklely

Re: “Oh man, REALLY close! Fortunately hearses are big enough for streethawk lightbars to work on them.” Why does the door logo feature a ghost with a hook for a hand? On second thought, do I really want to know?

The Hawaiian car is what many professional car restorers call a “20/20 car.” It looks good more than 20 feet away or going more than 20 mph, and never else.

Jeff, I’m glad you got some pics of your car up there but dude, put up some more. Come on man, you’ve earned it. Of all non-59/60-caddy ambulances out there yours rocks. Show it off a bit, eh?

Oh I have plenty up, too many actually, more than I have up on Paul’s forums I think, over here: AZ Ghostbusters Ecto Project *Vigo Moving & Storage* 5/30/10 - #181 by Boomerjinks - Ectomobiles - GBFans.com

Bryan do you have any more pics of that one you saw at San Diego back in the day?

Here’s a couple of pics drcaron has put up on theecto1.com, here’s a hightop conversion just missing some rack components:

Then there’s this one taken in Montreal in 1991. It looks an awful lot like the midwest Ecto, I’m going by the radome tower on that guess. Maybe someone can chime in on it.

that high roof is wierd

AHAHAHAHAHAHA what the ■■■■?

That looks awful.

It was a Barris job.

Here’s a couple of more pics of it from Drcaron.

The little boy on the first picture (the high top one) is me. I remember when I saw this replica I was very very happy. Now I realize how the car wasnt accurate lol a 1960 model and the top is awful lol

Thanks for chiming in Spengler28, drcaron said he had gotten the pics from a Spengler but I didn’t know which one.

Theres lot of around here lol

The only other info i can give is, there was nothing inside the car i remembered as a kid , saying : where is the proton pack rack and the computer???

New pictures of dems legendary “busters” pro cars.

Seeing those last two make me want to cry. :walterpeck:
