Hearse/Ambulance Ecto-Conversion Spotted Thread

I bet those get him a lot of business though . . car is a gimick and people remember gimicks

Does anyone else remember the Hardee’s Ecto-1a visits? I barely remember it from when I was a kid. Ive got pictures of the event, inside and out of the Ecto-1a but right now can only find this one. When I find the other’s I’ll post them.

Wow never heard of those and I see by then the blue hose was already messed up. I thought it didn’t happen till it got to Universal.

that kid is bare foot. hardees is not the 711.

haha that “Kid” is me.

Cross-posting this fella.

That was no tsunami, that was the Hawaiian Ecto driving past.

These guys… how come we don’t know who they are?.. in a parade around Christmas.

French/Spanish Superior Ecto at a festival of some sort.

What is this I don’t even

Yes, just found them this weekend. They’re all useless though. Three pics, all taken as closeups of the proton pack. The fact that there’s a car and an inflatible Mr. Sta Puft in the background are sort of hidden. I’ll scan then when I get home so that we can all have a good laugh. Based on the triangular shape of the driver door window I’m guessing it was a 1970’s Cadillac turned into an Ectomobile.

Was that the 1988 NOW Comics event? With Peter Mosen in his GB Gear?

Dude-man’s “Flickr” is here: puuikibeach | Flickr

He’s has another Ecto in his album as well. I’d like to think our Pontiac turned out better than his. That’s actually the model I thought we were getting at first.

Alright Jeff, here’s those pics. Like I warned, they’re not very good. Kind of blurry and if memory serves me right, taken at Comic-Con 1986 with a crappy 110mm camera.

Yup, that looks like Mosen’s pack…And the '70’s Ecto [With Inflatable Slimer on the hood] and Stay Puft confirm that this was from the '88 Now Comics “booth”…

Thanks fifth. Yeah it’s definitely the one that was in Now comics picture section. Does anyone have a scan of that lying around?

Paul used to have two pictures over in the Ghostbusters II Hidden Cameos section of his site [Under Peter Mosen obviously] , but they come up “404 missing” now…

That was '88 not '86? Wow,… Thanks. Well, I’m old and my memory isn’t so good. I should go eat some metamucil or something. So that was Mosen? Cool. I wished I’d know who he was at the time but ya know… That was before anyone knew “anyone” like we do now.

Heh, I love that tiny crankbox.

amazing how far fan pack buliding has come along .

You have ten years on me, but I’m getting there ;P…And thanks to you and these pics we now know what the “Mosen pack” looks like close up [aside from the black & white side profile of it, sitting in the back of his Ecto in that “Car Craft” article from 1989] :-D…

I refer you this thread ;-):

Anyone know to whom this belongs? The HAGBs are currently considering the Chevy 210 wagon for our Ecto. Glad to see it looks good as one!

Truly a Gruesome-Twosome. image

And another.

This car is the DEFINITION of a Hearse/Ambulance conversion, in that it appears to be an 80s station wagon that was then converted into a Hearse/Ambulance.

The more I see of it, the more I like it. The rear end is really goddamn ugly-looking, but I LOVE the look of an Ecto with such a short wheel base. I really want to see it with the lightbar covers off, or video of it with everything on…

I think this is the North Carolina guys… not entirely sure. Maybe it’s SC…

Car from England, apparently this thing is getting towed EVERYWHERE.

Here’s that Demo Derby ecto again. Why do I feel like this is a repost?

Not sure.

Then there’s THESE ■■■■■■■■.
