I’m new to this forum, so please bare with me. I’ve been a fan since the late 80’s and have enjoyed watching the movie over and over. Now older and a father, I’ve exposed my kids to both movies, they just loved it! several years ago I was hired at Sony to work in their Security Dept. One day while walking in the back-lot I stumbled upon both Ecto-1 and 1A. I was so excited that the very next day I bought a wind up camera to take as many pictures possible. No clue where those pics are now, but any-who, ever since then I had dieing passion to re-create the Ecto-1. Now being older and in a position with more financial backing, I would like to explore the idea of starting the painstaking process of finding parts. Reading most of the post, it seems to take people years to find parts, so with that being said I better get started. I was in a position several years ago to take detailed pictured of the inside, sadly I didn’t take advantage of that. I however might still be able too through my dad connections at Sony. If it pans out I’ll with do my best to identify what has yet to be and maybe get some serial numbers while at it for the extra help. We shall see what happens. Sorry for rambling on so much, but any help that you guys can offer to find accurate parts, please pm me.
